Banned with the Best !!!

Julz - how special you are - you're status of SUSPENDED PREFERRED SELLER may actually rank higher than my status of BANNED FOR LIFE!!!  hysterical hysterical hysterical Perhaps we need a poll - nah.......I'm gonna 'give it to ya' - you need someone to make you a special banner like mine -  !!!

All of these 'terms' are owner-added; not part of the script, just so anyone reading this can know that 'banned for life' as well as suspended preferred seller are NOT part of the original script design.

Is the log-out function possibly further over on the right towards the top?  I honestly can't remember where it was or if it existed at all - to be honest with ya.  The whole sign-in/sign-out and cookie 'stuff' never worked right on HiBidder while I was there.

As I think more about the troll-spray post at PSU from mrflibbles, perhaps she was pointing and spraying the poor other hibidder person - HidyAphrodite's Closet - who only said she too was having an issue.  But - the issues are NOT the site, of course - it's the users....So - perhaps the spray was intended for her?    ... the unexpected, unprofessional response is causing me to think to hard - all I really want are answers - and no matter what anybody says, I'll keep bumping the post.

It seems the right thing to do - so any new unsuspecting sellers who might stumble upon the auction site count at PSU can truly realize, unlike I, that hibidder.com is a huge waste of time and energy - esp. when users can get banned for no reason.

Erin.....I ain't gonna say I told ya so but ya know ya know!! I tried to warn several people about the site. When I start off having problems and see inconsistencies....I know it's not a place I want to be associated with. It's amazing how many people actually followed the 'leaders.'

Nope, logout is not on bottom, to the right, the left, middle or anywhere... I did look. The only way to get out is by closing the page totally.... hmmm, and who's spying where?

PHPprobid also have time outs... short times outs... thats my only real complaint about ppb... If I stopped in the middle of a listing for a cigarette... I'd have to start over when I got back.
Bid-alot did it... And I complained to Jim ... AQ did it too... And I complained to Ray... That is the reason I learned the bulk lister so well.

So maybe that is the reason that there isn't a log out... but there still should be.

I agree....there definitely should be!!!

There are many elements about the phpprobid software that I truly like.  In the case with Hibidder.com, I'm still quite certain the many issues - site speed, screwed up photos, missing and duplicated listings, etc. are coding issues related to attempted upgrades and changes vs. anything to do with the functionality of the software as designed.

I dunno what to tell you Juls....I guess once logged in, you're 'stuck' logged in!!!

Boy I have to agree with you on that time out thing, Mo.  The one at IWAC is short and I fussed to Rob about it, but it made me learn how to use a bulk lister too.

Now I know IWAC does have a log out at the bottom in the footer, but I don't know if this is standard or something Rob added himself.

Mo,
Not quite sure about the time out thingy with either PH or AQ, as I cant say that I've ever had a problem there, but in the case of logging out, both PH and AQ have them at the top.  At HB, I feel as though they are tagging something or keeping tabs so it looks like there is more traffic there then there really is. Dunno.... but as my mother used to say... something ain't kosher in denmark!  hysterical hysterical

Maybe they plan to hold you hostage? I have no idea who runs HB anymore and I don't want to know actually but from what I have heard and the antics they have pulled....maybe they think thay have you stuck just where they want you. There is no getting away. You are theirs for all eternity!!! (It's the mentality thing going on there! love grin)

Yes Deb you did fuss to me about it. Unfortunatly its not something I can control in admin.

The logout button in the footer is standard and is displayed as 'LOGIN' until you are signed in then it turns to 'LOGOUT'.

Hey Rob - I know that David hosts a phpprobid forum - does this 'auto' time-out ever come up there?  I've heard it for a bit, and while it may be a very small 'want' for sellers, if it's common enough, I suspect David and team would add it to a next release or something!

I honestly never had an issue (but I'm a spaz).  I get up and walk away all the time.  eCrater has a short fuse too.  I've not (that I recall) left in the middle of a listing before - and in former lives, did learn to like and use the bulk-loading tool!

Cherry Pit ---- I so had hoped you were wrong related to HB.  The good news, I always had what you said filed away.  The not so good news - I had to discover for myself.  Yet another costly mistake (what a huge waste of my life {life}) that I've now recovered from - eh?

Back to football you all (i'm rhyming....)!!

Actually the timeout thingy is a good thing.. if you walk off from a public computer... library, unemployment office... then someone getting your account isn't as easy.

So, learn to work around it. Since I like to smoke alot and have to go outside to do so....  I would time out before I got finished writing my ad...  So I could load the bulk lister just as fast ... or use sell similar... paste in the new ad.

Very good point Mo and unthought of by most up until you stated it.

Let's reask some questions here and see if we can't get some answers. Hey you never know maybe Rich will grow a pair and come out of hiding to handle his inabilities at customer service. At the very least maybe one of the mods or Admins will show they have concern for sellers online.

#1 Bay's gift cards, Rich did you ever intend on following through with the promotion in the first place? If so where are the cards now and or what did you buy with them when you decided you deserved them instead of the promotion winner, Bays?

#2 Rich have you figured out how to safely store information yet so Erin's personal info can be removed from HB instead of that lame excuse "banned for life"

#3 Rich is a suspended preferred seller status a new higher level of selling at HB?

#4 Why was TTW's account suspended at HB?

Feel free to add to my list of questions at any time. I have only just begun to start talking directly to Rich. Oh by the way Rich I am accepting resumes for new boinktard investigations for 08' and so far it looks like you are at the top of the list.

I do agree....the time out function serves a purpose!  It's never affected me greatly and since we've got a variety of systems here at home used by several - I am grateful it exists for Paypal - or my teens would do a heckova lot more shopping that I would allow normally!!!

Joe - one question I would add to the list is why can't members get responses to 'contact customer service'?  We've seen a continuing theme that questions asked and issues raised not only go unanswered, but are not even acknowledged.  So - is there a reason why any business person would ignore customers?  Even ebaY sends a canned response - which stinks, and more often than not doesn't align with the question - but...it's something - which is better than nothing -  !!

Well technically you got a canned response from one of the HB Admins over at PSU.
