Are you sure?  I suspect the system is 'supposed' to do that, but from what I see and read - many are not even getting that.  I may be wrong - wouldn't be the first time!!!  I honestly can't remember if the admin functionality of the phpprobid script has that type of feature or not.

hysterical hysterical hysterical - Need a ton more coffee and a reload of my brain to consider that deeply!!!

While I was doing a followup on HB I noticed a change to the HB community sign in page. New graphics and wouldn't you know the policy pages are there you can't see them unless you are registered. Nothing like going on a blind date now is there. Who in there right mind would enter a contract blind?

So I did some further research and looked at the main HB site. Well the basic BS is still there when you try to register however, the privacy policy again can only be viewed if you are registered. So I guess HB people like entering blind contracts. Heck may as well, not many people see the site anyway through organic means. Sure you can take an exact title and plug it in and get a result (most times not in google products search though) how do buyers know what your titles are to search for them? The answer is they don't, just like any number of the alternative sites (with few exceptions, IWAC being one) the meta tags are setup to attract sellers. Nothing suggests anything for sale to attract buyers.

I see a pattern of meta misery when it comes to sites that Rich had his hands in at one point in time. YHB has about the worst I have seen so far when it comes to meta tags. I know TTW has a list of what they are and maybe she will be along so we all can see why these types of sites are setup with the attention to only attract sellers, who in turn become that sites community who buy from each other round and round like a big circle benefiting one person only, the site owner.

Hey TTW if you are here how about a list of the meta tags a few of these sites are running that originated out of Rich's camp. It truly brings one question to mind. Do they even know where the meta tags are to change them?

An admitted numpty - what is the point of all the non-related terms and sites in the meta tags?  Isn't the desired state of good meta tags phrases to attract customers?

Also the site shows 33k listings, and google-base shows 19k listings - I believe that Google-base ignores duplicates when it accepts feeds.  So, one can assume that at least 24k listings on HiBidder are duplicate, triplicate, quadruplicate, etc. listings from the moderators boosting the count with drop-ship products.  Does this seem/sound logical?

MSN shows 38 pages of 20 products per page - around 760 items.

I no longer see where they feed google products, from of the home page, which may explain why products can't be found.  Perhaps due to the violations of submissions - the many repeated products - the feed is being rejected.

I too can't get to any of the policy, privacy, etc. information from the home page any more.  Did you all notice that links must be allowed again? There is a store - the 5th largest - who directly links to their own site from their store description.  Wasn't links what got me suspended for life from the forum?  Geez....mine was a referral link to a trading site - this is an obvious link to solicit off-site sales.  I guess...mine was worse for the site and sellers - eh?   hysterical hysterical hysterical hysterical

BidHopper shows 265 pages x 20 items per page - way off from the counts shown on the home page.

If items are not available to shopping and product search engines, I guess that explains why there was only 1 bid on 1 item until the weekend challenge started Friday.  Then, the site jumped up to a huge 8 bids - all moderator/admins bidding on other moderator/admins items. - Great busy holiday selling season - eh?

I do feel for the 'real sellers' that need to move product.  Obviously, that will not happen on hibidder.com - I've heard from many that their items are never even seen for all the dropship redundant stuff that is clogging up the site.  Way too bad.... sniff

OK - here's an interesting 'marketing and promotional' trick.....

'ed the thread at PSU where I'm still trying to get someone, anyone, representing Hibidder.com to possibly answer questions about my suspension, banning, etc.

http://www.powersellersunite.com/about14051.html

So....instead of getting an answer, a Hibidder.com volunteer moderator, who has 6,000 items (of the total 30,000 listed) drops over to PSU inviting folks to:

'come see the decorated stores' for Christmas http://www.powersellersunite.com/about14868.html

'come see the contests' at Hibidder.com http://www.powersellersunite.com/about15005.html

What intelligent person would allow Rich to convince them to stop over at PSU and do this?  I feel so bad for RecordLady - does she not realize that there probably won't be any responses or interest until/unless they resolve the customer service issues that have been discussed at PSU and a variety of other places all over the web?

I hate to see people taken advantage of, but this recent 'set of postings' - she's only made 4, and I'm quite certain each has been suggested by Rich - really makes her look very foolish - don't ya think?

Why oh why do these folks not understand the value of handling business and customer issues in a timely manner?  I guess I'll have to point that out to her - eh?   :xmaseek: :xmaseek: :xmaseek:

Hey has anyone noticed the new Hibidder.com friends side box on the home page yet? Take a look at the friends list  hysterical hysterical hysterical hysterical hysterical hysterical hysterical hysterical

In all honesty I don't see any big movement of sellers or even listing counts that suggest that Hibidder is anything more then a Admin/Mod personal junkyard loss leaders to sell amongst the sellers that are already at HB.

What is HB doing to gain buyers attention other then showing the potential buyers how they treat there own customers (have the scars healed yet?  whip ) when they have concerns about business (or when Rich needs to use a promotional walmart card to pay for his medication at the walmart pharmacy) practices.

To whoever is guiding that blind Mod posting the news at PSU. That is not a marketing strategy  hysterical hysterical hysterical hysterical posting in a thread with no other participants other then the OP is, ummm, preaching to the choir and not productive.

Joe - I'd noticed the friends, but found it to be as meaningful as most other on the front page.  NOT....

It's long been known that the stats. on the phpprobid script can be manipulated, and I'm certain they are - as have you noticed that every time or any time you visit, there is a minimum of 9 members online?

Also, the most recent news article suggests some interesting 'info.' on fraud - and at least you do not have to join to be enlightened!!  I've never laughed so hard - as many of these are actually excellent marketing/promotion strategies used by top sellers....who in the eyes of hibidder are scammers!!

How about the BBB 'logo' and information?  Click thru and you'll notice....

 - there's a space between hi and bidder - is this a way to register and be recognized without Bays' formal complaint that went unresolved, therefore gives an unsatisfactory rating?

 - a business start date of 2003, when the whois shows the site became 'alive' in 2005?

 - http://boise.bbb.org/WWWR...bb=1056&firm=90001668 ------- this link shows a resolved complaint - so I wonder if this is/was bays or if another complained?

The best information on the front page - over 706,xxx items have been listed is priceless.  This is the system counting any/all items 'started' on the site - so the same 30k items that are not unique, but rather duplicate/triplicate/etc. of each other have relisted xx times to get to 706k count.... hysterical hysterical hysterical hysterical hysterical - obviously great marketing information for sellers and buyers alike!!

I guess they only feed to googlebase now, and I did get hibidder search results when I searched with exact title.  However, the last submission to GoogleBase was on December 4th, and only 17.5k items - so the frequency has declined and some items must not included or were rejected.

Lovely place to park your items for now activity -eh?  Rich does not market to buyers - only sellers.  He believes the sellers need to market to buyers - which is sort of logical for a free site, but hard to do with so many dropship items cluttering up the site.

When I saw that Erin, I hit the reply button and then the back button three different times....I was so furious I was speechless!  But there's a good chance I'll get over that before the day is over.

I'm sure Joe will have a few choice things to say about it too when he gets back online today.

I've not been back there since I posted, and obviously was a bit pizzed when I did.  I just get so tired of the stupidity of these people.  Can they:

 - Not read the facts?

 - Not see the intervals?

 - Continue to live in la-la land?

I've bent over backwards since my darn post was deleted to 'move on' and NOT give in to the perception that the PSU mods. have blinders on when it comes to HB - but.....it's becoming more and more obvious.  I suppose my post was rude - esp. for me, but I've defended these people to the end - and then they come up with 'that'?  'That's' all they had to say?   :nono: :nono: :nono: :nono:

Erin,
I have always personally felt that Egato from a long time ago, way before people started to accuse different HB mods as being biased, was not only biased by a spy for HB. Not only that, but I have always felt that he passed on private information from PSU to HB. Of course, I could never prove it, so it would always be "just my gut feelings", but there have been posts/inuendos that what I have felt all along is true. And as PSU is concerned, I personally also believe that the "higher ups" condone these actions. All of these "feelings" I could never prove, but when I know it in my gut that strong, I simply know it is.

I hear you Julz.....it's just so darn frustrating - I so try to consider the good in people and moderating a huge, huge forum like PSU has to be difficult.  I just can not believe they responded so flippantly - no response from either would have been far better...

In your scenario, relative to the IP sharing, I honestly do not know who did it, but I did confirm it happened by making one phone call.  I cornered the person I called, and 'forced' or convinced them to confirm - YES or NO.  Part of the bargaining was I would not ask which moderator did it....and never did.  So - I can't say which it was, but there are only 2.

What pizzes me off about the 'sound-off' today - is it appears to have been 'scheduled' - one right after the other, when neither has been in that thread for weeks - perhaps at all - since one of them deleted my post in the first place.

Because of the emotions, eggshells, and the true lack of sharing about sites like we used to do, I've been there less and less.  There are no longer real discussions about sites, success, issues, etc.  Perhaps it's changed, perhaps I've changed - but I know that my comfort level has diminished since my post got pulled...

Geez - when any member spends any amount of time writing more than a one-liner, it's super frustrating to see your time wasted.  I can waste my time just fine without help from others removing my 'intelligent posts'.... hysterical hysterical hysterical hysterical hysterical hysterical

And....can someone please explain to me how my issues became 'all about JB'?   :xmaseek: :snowball: :xmaseek:

Oh yeah - I did return and I did respond!!! I'm tired of folks personalizing posts and turning them from business issues to people issues.

Julz - I actually got a PM from someone over at PSU wondering if your post meant that you were Molly Malone -  hysterical hysterical hysterical hysterical hysterical hysterical hysterical
