You're like me and you won't.
You will spend the rest of your life trying to help others and half of those times it will come back to bite you in the a$$ later.
But the other half of the time you try to help people, it will be well worth it and it will be paid forward to someone else.
At least that's what I keep telling myself so I won't feel so darn stupid all the time.

Bays I remember the gift card drama. I kept asking myself are these people for real? I couldn't believe the vicious behavior that carried on and on. I was miffed that PSU didn't take action for so long, and totally irritated that no one would give you a straight answer. So when I read about Erin's post getting deleted I just ummm snapped so to speak. Once again the favortism reared its ugly head and against a very loyal PSU poster who always supported the sellers.
Bottom line for PSU is that their actions are not conducive to the business side of PSU. For the few sellers who regularly post, hundreds more only read the forums. You can lock threads to your hearts content, but they are still viewable. I did notice your absence Bays, but completely understood why you would stay gone.
Thanks Girlfriend! Yep they did try to tear me down with all the lies but I know better! The sad thing is I went to the forum because I was locked out of my stores!! And we all know why that happened, I should never of have asked the Site owner why my listings were inflated. You see I found out that my store was being used as a numbers store. Not my business.
Those times were the worst but I do know better now and I'm doing much better not dealing with the alternatives. eBay believe it or not has never been bad to me except for all the fees!

I just went over and posted! Alana really hit home! She is right and she is just like so many others that read these threads.
I was locked out of that site because I asked a question about my listing count and then of course about my Gift Cards that I won. I think it was $150.00 and I spent more than that during the contest buying things from sellers.

I just do not get it! What in the reality world makes 'those people' think that WE are all out to get them? :blink
It's the most strange 'thing' I've seen in like forever. Other sites and other members have back/forth arguments and disagreements, some ever are 'nasty' with name-calling, etc. But - never to the extent that the HB folks want to draw it. There is a PMPMS over there - Poor Me Pitiful Me Syndrome....(request a new smilie)....
I know many folks in real life that prefer living with perpetual drama than reality, but to do so on a public forum with 6k+ members....
I started to prepare a response, but decided to let it go for now. Of course, I'm quoted all over God's World - and I guess I need to get Bays off the hook.....back to post it now!!!

I am sure you will find the words to post Erin and why shouldn't you? Think about this, have you ever seen a post by DRM or one of his many alter ego's been pulled? Is it that the HB folk are so deep in PSUnite's back pocket that this favoritism takes place? How is it fair that all the other alternative sites don't receive the same treatment when it comes to having a nice nice pro cheer leading joy joy happy thread?
I know a lot of people will disagree with me but I have to say it and this is nothing against auction sites owners who are just trying to compete and make some money. Auction's are dying a slow and agonising death. They are, and what has the mission of providing an alternative to eBay become? Oh not much more than a thousand or so auction sites struggling for there piece of a limited market, that market is the sellers who will sell at alternatives. All that translates to a no win situation for those sellers because the alternative sites have a far lower STR than what they are accustomed to at eBay. I mean PSU is profiting from this, where do most sellers who are fed up with eBay go for information about an alternative to eBay venue? They go to PSU.
What is the purpose of having the PSU tote for listings anymore? I mean, wouldn't a STR tote be a better idea so sellers could get a better idea of what there buyer base might be before they go through the trouble to list at 5 or 6 different sites?
I personally don't sell at any auction style sites anymore other than eBay but, I use eBay as a marketing channel for my independent website. Yes I have been to the other alternative sites and from what I can see I have only 2 sites that I would reccomend and here is why:
www.iwacstores.com
With their webstores feature I can maintain my inventory, have my own terms and payment options as well as maintain a presence in a market that I may not be reaching through my own advertising means all for a low monthly fee. Yes no hasle, I am still in control of everything through my own website.
www.plunderhere.com
I don't have a membership at this site but I know and have seen the site owner post the stats that have meaning in many different forums throughout the web. They don't seem to be fudged and you can get a clear assesment of what kind of efforts you will need to put in to gain the buyer base you want. I have yet to see any other site post the stats like Mo does, if I had the time to list at an alternative auction site this would be my choice, only thing is I prefer to stick with what has worked for me (independent websites).

Well....I did a mini post over there and PSU posted in front of me! I agree that the 'auction platform' is declining! It was fast, fun and 'new' for a long time. I now truly prefer BIN - when priced right - as a shopper myself.
It would be nice if the auction platform were still fun, but it's changed over time and not all for the good!!

- Well.....much to my 'amusement', and completely unknown to me - I have been banned! I really now belong here - I'm feeling so much better to know many of us have this in common.........................
Not even Bays has been deemed worthy of this classification nor anybody else that I can find!!!
:clap
Are ya ready? Here ya go!!!
In seriousness, I don't know when that happened, I have no notification, no reason why or nothing else! What's most amusing (if you have a strange sense of humor like me) - I can still get into the forums.....this is from the previous forum in case one wonders!
Can anybody 'one up' me?

Congratulations on being banned???? I think!
I was banned elsewhere and for absolutely no reason. Found it to be a blessing in disguise and realized I was banned with the best of them.

Well why would you or anyone else want anything to do with a site that isn't going to answer your issues?? Seems to me if I recall that you left under good terms with that site! And then months later you get banned.
Quilt, I also have been suspended from another site which to me is a blessing. Funny thing is that I never received an email stating I was suspended! I asked to be deleted as a member and later noticed I was suspended and only because members wrote me and were surprised because they saw that I was suspended. I was told that there are many members suspended from that site so maybe it is a blessing for me. Funny thing is that HB members have even contacted me about me being suspended from this other site.
I just want to sell! I do not want any problems as I'm a lover not a fighter!
So those little things I have just let go and put in God's hands. I guess I was not meant to be there. Maybe we need to get a Banned/Suspended Member group going! I guess we are special.

Ah, see now that is a major issue along the lines of defamation or liable. Here is why:
Just by looking at your profile here and knowing that you use the same posting ID at PSU, I tend to believe you use the same name on venues you sell at as well. We see that the user ID is the same name as your posting ID so in reality you have been branding your name all along weather you intended to or not it makes no difference now. Why is that important in this case? Do a google search for your user ID and you will see just about everything you have ever listed anywhere under that ID as well as feedback and posts you have made. So you are basically branded by that name.
Because you have a branded name that page from HB will also show up in organic search and will say you are banned for life just as the screen shot shows. So now think about all the alternative sites and as i said before how it is a limited market of mostly sellers who sell at several different venues. Those sellers develop relationships at all those different venues as would be expected because the forums are intended to make you feel like a family. So because those alternative venues have limited markets the sellers make up the major portion of the buyers. Has your name now been defamed because of HB placing "banned for life" in your user ID? Is HB liable for placing that there? I believe it is yes in both cases.
Example of how it should be done:
eBay places "no longer a registered user" on a user ID for many reason's. It could mean they didn't pay there fees, it could mean the user canceled there account themselves. By placing "banned for life" in your user ID suggests you did something wrong. You have said you asked for your account to be closed and I believe that to be the case but, whenever someone by chance sees that "banned for life" they are going to assume that you did something wrong which could be a broad range of things. It suggests you are a bad person and because you have a branded name that trickles down from site to site to site.
Erin,
If it was me in this situation I would send them a legal letter to cease and desist displaying any information attached with that user ID on HB. Give them 24 hours or so to comply and if they don't sue the paints off them.
Remember I said I recommended 2 sites in my opinion in the alternative markets? Well, I think it is safe to say the actions that Hibidder takes to act like a dictatorship go beyond the reason's of logic. Personally I have looked at the site and my god can you find a site that loads any slower on the net because I can't. Add that in with the childish behavior of there mods and admins and it spells disaster in the OAI.
