Well.....here's my numptiness for today.  I couldn't even find Google UK to 'check'.  Kind of like Google CA, but even more 'hidden'.  I do agree if I have to try and figure out the google upload, I will either not or have my own site...

Joe - if that ding-dong above was me, not intended as a 'generalization'.  I've been pretty passionate for those who have EVERYTHING on ebaY to wake up and smell the roses - and support YOUR business and YOUR business plan....

So - it could have been me - I was very active yesterday (at PSU) and since it's a new day....really have no idea what I said....

My apologies if it was me!!

Wasn't you Erin and besides you know I would PM you if it was. Some things are uncontrolable and in this case I understand the stress the poster involved is under and trying to apeal to both sides will be impossible.

Couple of things Erin, first the card arrived yesterday and i laughed my ass off knowing the story behind it

Second I went into google base to try and find some info on ebids results in products. Found 400,000+ results in base but C&P'ing exact titles over didn't give great results in products although I managed to find a few. I did notice ebid is running an adwords program while I was researching it so that is a plus but it is general in nature dumping people into the joint site for all the .nets. Another thing I did notice in base for ebids is the enormus amount of borderline X-Rated products. That could be another reason why the lack of results in Google products, you just weren't looking for the right things

Oh.....Joe - because I know I'm a ding-dong most days (alright....every day), if you want, you are so welcome to share the story of the card....

It is the perfect definition of an Erin Attempted Good Deed!!!!!   hysterical hysterical hysterical

I am so glad it came; albeit a few weeks late.....a journey - that card could prolly tell us stories - eh?

I honestly did not think of x-rated products.  I have never explored that market as a seller or buyer, so do not know if they do or do not appear in Google's product search.

The ebid poster who keeps trying to push my buttons did come up with 'one' response and keeps telling me he doesn't work there and I need to contact their customer service.

I'm not asking any more questions.  BUT - for those who are entertaining ebid or for those who already paid to join -  - these should have popped on their radar screen before the spent the $$.

I will say - I like the ebid 'look'.  I also like the various sorts, etc.  It took me a while to figure out what did vs. what did not have bids.  There's a blinkie thing at the end of the title - if it's blinking, there are no bids (if anyone cares).

From an IT perspective, I haven't 'yet' figured out how they've got their databases and servers segmented and set up.  I have found extensive addresses, and do have some reservations about that.  No concerns, as I'm not 'listing there' - but would love to see an architectural/network diagram....  - I can read these - used to sell custom corporate IT solutions .... can talk it, can't touch it tho - ask my former techie employees!

But....I am glad you mentioned the ad campaign!  That is a great bonus for sellers - if the redirect is to items and not 'how to join'.  I will say - I went to the UK site this am to scope it out and they show the buddie point contest standing for February.  The PSU poster is in the lead -  hysterical hysterical hysterical hysterical!!!

Gotta go start some type of sunday meal around here.....hummmm!!

  Joe for the quick response!

And to any of you - please feel free to PM me if I pizz you off!  I never intend to and try to 'watch my words' ----- but.....I am human (and evil at times too)!!  rah rah rah rah

Should we Extend the Ebay Boycott

Hmm, I wonder if there is any relationship between the asking of that question and the sharp upturn on this chart that began the day eBay announced its changes?

Yep there are the rest of the knee jerkers. Rash business decisions never pain out. I would be curious to see how many of those domains are renewed this time next year. Might be a good time to buy some domains in bulk.

I forgot to mention in my previous post about eBid and GP -- They have a thread on their boards explaining their "policy" for GP uploads. If I remember it correctly (not sure) it was something about your item needing to have 7 days to go at the time of the upload and they were only uploading (can't quite remember) once/week or twice / mt. Not sure which.

Whatever it is, that means that plenty  of items wouldn't get uploaded for several cycles. That's not too good on their part.

I know a lot of the other sites upload to GP every day.

Carol - the poor PSU poster keeps getting pizzed at me for asking questions.  I do not know why the ebid folks don't show up - guess they don't need to if sellers will join their based on recommendations from this guy at PSU.

Anyhoo....  - they've been around for 10 years (or so somebody said).  I am beginning to 'see' that they've got some different rules about their Google Products Feeds.  The infrequent submission suggests to me that it may be more 'manual' than automated.  If it were 'easy' - they would prolly do it each/every day.

Well - I hope folks have success anywhere they decide to list.  I will say if he says one more 'personalized' statement to me, I'm going to give him a piece of my mind.  Quite frankly, I think he could use it....

I know what you mean. I've posted in a few threads that were progressing fairly well until 1 or 2 particularly clueless posters showed up.

That lazoff guy is 1 I could do without. He sees "conspiracies" in every little thing. Maybe that's a side effect of growing up under communism and the KGB. I'm just guessing about that, but his name is definately Russian. So if not him, perhaps his parents.

Oh well, been trying to get some plant work done today.

I have to say that for all the tons of google product searches I do, I have never seen an ebid item returned in search results.
Ecrater yes, Ebid not

rah rah rah rah :cheer:Here I am, Here I am!!!

Well.....according to the person who is (badly) representing ebid at PSU, you aren't seeing any product results returned from ebid because the sellers (HERE THIS CAROL????) don't know how to create a proper listing........................

I always wondered why I had very few page hits when I listed there - it's because I'm too stupid.  That works.....I see an AITW - Allison in the Works....  sniff sniff

OK!!!  LOL

My listings at eBid are almost if not exactly identical to the listings at Blujay and PlunderHere. They are similar to the listings at eCrater but without the HTML of course.

I'm sure the eratic uploads are more the issue than anyone realizes.

Yah, you can't knock the truth into some people. Or they are wearing very thick rose glasses.

If Ebid only does a product feed to google base whenever.... that is a problem. I am not sure how regularly the other sites do it, but apparently more frequently.

A proper listing????

Would you like to go and share this with mister smarty pants over there?  Of course, I got 'a nudge' for being off-topic..... hysterical hysterical

What's most funny - if you or anyone began to read either of those boycott threads - I betcha 50 bucks that many more posts are off-topic than on....

Tell me if you want a link......I about died when he said that!

I have the same titles every place too....

Chiquita - I think most that feed do it at least once a day.  I can't vouch for that, but when it's automated, why wouldn't you?  I suspect ebid's is not automated.  Otherwise, why would you do it 'at will'?

Is there a full moon - consistently for the last 2 weeks or what?
