I tried to change thing to something positive over there with a thread "promote your listing specials". As active as things are tho, it will drop off the "recent" chart tho if someone doesn't add to it. I'm not going to bump it for the sake of keeping it up there.

Let's show them alts can work if we do it right.

I am starting to see a pattern with geographical alliances now. Pretty sad if you ask me that the internet in regards to the OAI is starting to have borders. It's very possible the threads where Merlin_Man showed his true colors could expose a much bigger problem inside the OAI. Whatever happens it will be fun to watch the boycott fissle out from here on.

Meanwhile - back at the ranch - I updated both of my Squidoo lenses, and packaged a $60 sale!!!  And - a few of the ebid folks have now decided that acting human is a better practice than full-blown assholism...so I'm nice again.

I do still have the same concerns - I just want to know who is selling as a US member, and how in the he!! can we get google products feeds for all other sites and then be stupid on that site? 

I also see a pattern relative to the alignment of geographics.  I am not one to 'lump' and 'judge' but I see a very big issue with SOME of the UK males accepting ANYTHING from a female - god forbid if we are intelligent, then it just makes them blithering idiots in their posts.

I dunno but I can see why many sellers are reluctant to do international business.  If the package is delayed in the mail, or there is a real issue, what names/comments might then come forth?   

I am glad he was banned tho.  If you took the time to go back and read his posts (which I do not recommend), he made a lot of 'uncomfortable' references to shady sex, and things I found disgusting on a public forum.  He made me 'shiver' before he came after me...

If you think some of those UK males don't accept smart females well, you should try to be the boss over some Mexican males. Oye vey !!!

Most of the younger males I've run into the last 5 years or so are OK. But before that I had about 10 years where I would get at least 1 guy/year that was so "macho" that he would NOT accept working for a woman as his boss. Those were usually the 30somethings or maybe even a little older. The grampas were just happy to have a job most of the time and were OK.

Honestly some of them wouldn't come in on days I would be there. Others wouldn't listen to what I wanted them to do for the day and would just do whaever they wanted. Others wouldn't do the job the way I wanted them to for my market. I would have just gotten rid of them except some years I had a hard time getting ANYONE as the job market here was too hot and workers could get most any job they wanted.

For the most part the problem with a lot of the newbies at PSU (not just the Brits) is that they just aren't listening to us or themselves. If they would just step back and look at a few of their own posts they would see how  "stuck in the mud" and redundant most everything is that they are posting.

Oh lets have some more polls and votes. Let's debate this or that some more.

JUST go out and DO SOMETHING, anything. All the arguing isn't doing anything to help your own business unless you are actually listing someplace other than eBay too.

Joe - thanks for the links!  When I was reading the 'first post' at me, that song popped in my head! 

Carol - I suspect there are times when getting good help is extremely difficult for you all - not matter the origin of the workers.  It's funny - my oldest was yapping about something the other day, and suggesting that there was no 'overkill for feminist movements'.

I really am not into all that, just know enough to suggest that in many ways, women still aren't considered equals - pay, status, etc.  So, I shared that with him.  Told him that for a while, I was an 'acting-exec.' and had access to salary information.  AND could share with him that beyond any doubt, with facts, the women on the team were paid less than then men - often substantially so. 

So - of course - he says, " Why didn't you do something, sue, etc?" (and he's smarter than many in some ways...)  And I said - no way....can not use sensitive information for personal gain.  He asked - legally Mom, or ethically? 

I had to laugh cuz he can be very smart....it's so hard to teach about equality, respect, ethics, morals, values, etc. in the current 'age' of our society. 

I took snapshots of those posts - great teaching tools to show my boys how NOT to win public affection or personality contests in forums.....   

I've met more pleasant folks from the UK than unpleasant.  It's just unfortunate that those who act like jerks tend to sway public opinion about a larger group.
