Long...................thread!   popcorn I will make myself accountable.  It is always good to hear what is working or er...not working in the auction world.

Wow tons of emotions going on, and I guess I made the right choice to have my own websites and avoid this insanity!  I am the only one running the show on those sites, and I am the only one that has to deal with the boss.

I would love to see success on other auction sites. It seems this stuff is just what I got away from when I closed down my Ebay stores and took them to my own sites.

I am just about ready to open a third stand alone in the next few weeks.  I really do wish some of the alternative sites would or could watch that Ebay mentality we all want to get away from.  Just can't act and think like Ebay with our customer service and the sellers are your customers.

I am not blond, I am not blond, I am not blond - note to self.....think hard, figure out the riddle - I am overthinking!!!  I'll get it ....some day!!!

Alana - you are absolutely right in what you say!  I too want to see ANY alternative successful - 1, 2, 5  --- honesty do not care - but someone truly penetrate and affect ebaY's market share.  It could be 100 small sites together - or one 'very savvy successful site' - again....not important to me.

I feel that ebaY will remain in a knee-jerk reaction mode until there is some 'real competition'.  I can't define exactly what that might look like (after all it's Friday night, and not prime time for my brain), but my business experience has been large monopolistic companies do 'not' care about the customers until they have to - meaning --- they are loosing them/some.

I agree 100% that each of us should be accountable and responsible for our own business.  All you folks here have 'done that' - I'm currently the FBB (flunky behind the ball) - but am hopeful to get up the courage to try in 08!

After the WagglePop Round 1 event (yep....I was affected by that one too) and the recent As the Hibidder turns, I will never be loyal to a 'site' but rather to fellow sellers and my own forward motion.

I truly love passionate people - passionate about causes and passionate about their business, kids, family, sports - insert 'activity' here!  However, when the passion turns outward and appears hostile, it's not a good match for me.

I retired from business as I was tired of the politics...and a made a great paycheck and loved most of the folks.  I never dreamed I'd run into 'more' selling online....another chapter in a book I should write one day - I suppose... writers block

BTW - there's a thread here (dunno exactly where) for you to get some critiquing on your site, if interested).  I've not posted yet, but been reading the feedback and these folks here are sharp!!

I will share that....I've been a 'bad girl' again - and went back to PSU to clarify something...then had to go back again and clarify my clarification -  !!

As I started this post, I swear to you all....I am not blond....

Hey Erin, It's tons of work running your own, but it's a good neighborhood.

Thanks for the tips on the other thread, I found it.

The WP was a nightmare I did not get caught in, HB was one that looked promising, but had too many site issues, and I have tried several others, but I just got too frustrated with the site issues.

I would love to find a good auction site that doesn't require buyers to have to register to purchase from.  I think BlueJay does that, but they aren't really an auction site.  I was there before I opened my websites, and never sold a thing the whole year.  I had over 600 listings.

I have one small Ebay store open right now, but only until I get my third site up and do a little more learning on this new stuff I am doing. It has only been there less than a month, and I am extremely antsy about that and want out of there ASAP.  I just have more work to do before I can move it.

Doesn't matter what site I try, I always have issues with loading or listing unless they are ASP sites.  Tazbar was great for me to list and load product, I loved that site and ended up buying a lot over there.  Just not a lot of sales.  I have had the majority of sales on my websites than anywhere else.

Erin you were always there for me on HB, I appreciate that, and you worked very hard, there. You have every right to express yourself on this topic.  I believe the more HB cheerleaders, volunteers whatever, respond to threads like this in a negative and attacking way, the more business they lose, so sounds like real bad PR for what appeared to be a beginning to a real nice place to list.

All I can see from an outsider's view, is that those representing the site with negativity towards others, past or present members is just creating a slow death for the auction site. Not a healthy choice and not positive PR.

It is sad, not sure what happen, don't really want to know the details, but still, it's sad to see names of members I shared posting and socially online with on HB forums head off into airing out their dirty laundry on public forums especially when it does more harm to the entire auction site in the long run.
