I made a promise not to post under this particular posting anymore.  I'm true to my word.

Robert - I too can see where you are coming from.  I do know many of the sellers, and do not wish them any harm and hope they have much success.  My 'bad taste' is the site owner.  And, while the venue may work well for others, I just struggle conceptually in paying the 'owner' a dime.  I worked my bottom off to load listings like many others for the 1st WP.

I and countless others, woke up one morning and 'poof'....all our hard work - gone.  Forums gone.  No message, no email, no announcement.  Then - many hours of panic later, Ray or someone posting for him came and made an announcement at FAS.  Now - that was not exactly a board he was 'favored' at --- so I ask you --- why use that venue to share the close?

If he had sent a message and said 'anything' - 'anything at all' and gave us even 48 hours to grab our things, I'd have some respect for him.  If he had sent the message to all of us (he did keep emails; he used them to invite when it came back) sharing he had to close for personal reasons - any reason - I'd have some respect for him.  But, to close the door, without warning and shut out every single person that supported him and worked 20 hours a day to load listings - just left me bitter - very bitter.

I am big on integrity.  I believe he may have been able to keep my respect if only (those 2 words haunt many of us) he'd done the close differently.

Others here may have a different experience and may have a different knowledge - but that's my 2 cents - after fees!!

Stupidity is its own punishment.

Emotions tend to run very high everytime Wagglepop is brought up...both for and against it.  Some of my closest friends I met thanks to the Tulip Tools WP thread, so some good did come from it.

I watched the rise and fall of WP1.  So when I got the email from Ray saying WP had reopened, I was first shocked because he dared to show his face again and second mad as hell because he claimed he had destroyed all records (including email addresses) from WP1.

I knew it would just be a matter of time before Ray threw another hissy fit or showed his true colors to new Sellers and they would begin defecting in droves.  Well...I was lurking the TT forums when the later started.

I'm so glad I was though!  Thanks to Ray's stupidity I met Joe, Liz, Val, Harold, Martha and many others.  That thread also led me to another forum which is all but defunct now (because of another bull-headed owner) WPSSU, where I met Sue, Quilt, Cranky and Bob.  So things do happen for a reason.

Just like Joe said, and I'm sure the other WP2 refugees will tell you the same thing...I have nothing against the sellers at WP, with the exception of one.  My complaints lie solely with Ray Romeo and the way he runs Wagglepop.

Would I ever recommend it as an alternative?  No.  I know Ray will never advertise WP other than by encouraging the Sellers to spam, post, etc.  I also know that if the expenses EVER equal or exceed the income, he will pull the plug again and say to hell with the Sellers.

P.S.  As far as TT goes...after awhile even that bondage-dressed bear starts to grow on ya!   hysterical hysterical hysterical hysterical hysterical hysterical hysterical hysterical hysterical

Bar Keep I agree with you and others. I don't think I'll return there like you say no Buyers and I don't think I can support any auction sites at the moment. As far as Ebay they provide great advertising for a dime. But would never open a store there with hundreds of listings. By the way Ebay referrals to my web site is about #3 on the list of referral sites

Exactly Bob and you have the right idea. I am seeing similar referrals if not more because I have a store and use eBay for branding purposes.

Bob I must say out of all the people in this forum you have taken it all in and applied it to your business model. For that I commend you and hope and wish you continued success as we all are one big family learning together!!!

I agree with Joe, Bob! You've been busy! Looking good!

I haven't even thought of Wagglepop for so long, until this thread was opened. I blindly jumped into phase 2 and drank the Kool-aid for about two months, then got the hell out of there!
