Bar's Open

Happy St. Patrick's Day

What would St. Patrick's Day be without one of these:

Or hearing that oh so famous song:

Cockles and Mussels, or Molly Malone

In Dublin's Fair City
Where the girls are so pretty
I first set my eyes on sweet Molly Malone
As she wheel'd her wheel barrow
Through streets broad and narrow
Crying cockles and mussels alive, alive o!

Alive, alive o!, alive, alive o!
Crying cockles and mussels alive, alive o!

She was a fishmonger
But sure 'twas no wonder
For so were her father and mother before
And they each wheel'd their barrow
Through streets broad and narrow
Crying cockles and mussels alive, alive o!

Alive, alive o!, alive, alive o!
Crying cockles and mussels alive, alive o!

She died of a fever
And no one could save her
And that was the end of sweet Molly Malone
But her ghost wheels her barrow
Through streets broad and narrow
Crying cockles and mussels alive, alive o!

Alive, alive o!, alive, alive o!
Crying cockles and mussels alive, alive ooooooo!

Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone!!!

I'd like one of the specials and one pot o' gold, please (hand delivered of course)

A St. Patrick's Day toast to Joe and The Crabby Host members...

An Old Irish Toast

May your neighbors respect you,
Trouble neglect you,
The angels protect you,
and heaven accept you.

Here Here Deb!!!

May there always be work for your hands to do,
May your purse always hold a coin or two,
May the sun always shine on your windowpane,
May a rainbow be certain to follow each rain,
May the hands of a friend always be near you,
May god fill your heart with gladness to cheer you.

And a few toasts to raise a pint to:

May you live as long as you want, and never want as long as you live.

May you die in bed at ninety-five years, shot by a jealous husband(or wife).

May the sound of happy music, And the lilt of Irish laughter, fill your heart with gladness, that stays forever after.

Here's to me, and here's to you, And here's to love and laughter- I'll be true as long as you, And not one moment after.

And last but not least:

Here's to you and yours, and to mine and ours. And if mine and ours ever come across to you and yours, I hope you and yours will do as much for mine and ours, As mine and ours have done for you and yours!

One of my favorite Irish sayings is:

May you be in Heaven a half hour before the devil knows your dead.

Hey.....I'm very late - eh?  We had corn beef, cabbage, carrots and taters!  No green beer, but all the good fixins!!!

May the road rise to meet you and the wind be always at your back.  May the lord hold you always in the palm of his hand!  My shortened version of the Irish Blessing!

Somebody fill me up The Bar Keep has had a heck of a day. I lost my big long post so this is the new condensed version.

Power was out when I awoke this morning. Power came back on shortly after. trip to the store for milk, drop oldest off at grandma's up the road and return home to notice a tree across the wires up the road from my house. Power goes out again to remove said tree, in the meantime Fedex shows up with boxes I will be shipping overseas, no power yet so waiting period. Power comes back on, phone rings, a buddy of mine asks me to pickup a walker from his house and bring it to him at a local store he thinks he broke his knee. head to said buddy's house and then to the store to help buddy. Half way there notice a group of people standing over a young boy in the middle of the street. Stop car, get out of car, ask, answer not sure, boy unconscious, control situation, hold traction of boy's head until additional help arrives. Find out boy was struck by a car while he was on a skate board, notice large lump on right side of boys head while holding traction. Help arrives and I am trapped as they rolled every piece of apparatus known to man. Try and call buddy who is waiting for help, no answer. Scene cleared boy was awake and alert before going to the hospital in the ambulance.

Back into car to the store to help my buddy. Arrive at the store look for buddy, find buddy in the middle of the store, buddy can't walk (nearly 400 LB buddy) and I can't carry buddy so the walker is a rolater so buddy sits on rolater and wheels out to car. tell buddy he should go in an ambulance right from store but buddy wants to drive his car home and get his phone (remember no answer before that is why) and have his car at the house. Follow buddy home, buddy parks car and i call 911 to send an ambulance. Ambulance comes and paramedic arrives, check buddy over and paramedic determines buddies knee cap is shifted and leg is much more swollen, buddy did break something. Help get buddy into ambulance and now am responsible for buddies animals for the forseeable future. Will go visit buddy in the hospital in a little while.

Come back home and start to deal with the shipping I wanted to do but had no power to do it. Had pizza to eat tonight. Started to do a better post but hit refresh by accident so I typed this out. That brings me up to the minute. just send drinks, Thank You!!!

Saturday night specials. After a day of Packing and getting ready to NOT move we all could use a little bubbly.

No limit with a designated driver.

Joe - I hope your buddy is OK and the boy that got hit!!!  Sounds like you had a 'day' back up there yonder!

My day is calm so far - it is only 7am tho - so I'm certain it will get more exciting with time!!
