Does anyone here know anything about vintage jewelry

Hi I was wondering if anyone here knows about vintage jewelry.  Particularly about jewelry designed by Ed Levin.  I have a vintage ring I want to list on ebay and I'm just trying to find out as much info as possible.  I know it's one of his earlier pieces because the mark on it is Levin sterling in block letters.  Also I found this ring in the 70's and it had a pearl on it that was very worn so I knew it was old then but the setting was still pretty nice.  So really the ring is just the setting because in the 90's I put a new pearl in and wore it briefly when I lost the pearl. Since then it's just been sitting.

I asked on the ebay jewelry board about it and one person's guess was it's from the 50's.   My guess was from the 50's or 60's.   So that's as close as I've been able to put a date on it.   

Also I've never listed anything vintage before so I've been trying to decide whether or not to put a reserve on it.  I've researched some of his earlier pieces and some go rather high.  I also noticed there are not a whole lot of vintage rings by him out there it's mostly earrings, bracelets, and necklaces. My 2 daughters and my hubby think I should put a reserve on it. They said I shouldn't sell it if I don't get a certain price for it. 

So if anyone knows any more info about this or has any advice as how to list this it would be greatly appreciated.  I have been researching this for days now and there is not a whole lot of info out there that I can find.

Cats...I'll be honest I know nothing about vintage jewelry other than what I like.

If I like it, I can guarantee you it's expensive 'cause everything I want usually is.
