Happy Halloween - May you have more treats than tricks!!!

This will be the first Halloween with our dog. She's going to go crazy with all the kids coming to the door!

Also, I've been waiting for my husband to put our new light over our front door on, since we started working on the house. I think he's not doing it on purpose so the trick or treaters think we're not home and we have leftover candy!

Sue - that's funny about your husband.....sounds like something mine would do!  My dog (6 years) goes spastic when anyone rings the doorbell.  He's pretty well behaved on every other element of existence - but that bell puts him over the edge!!!  My solution - I'm headed to play ball (again), my boys will go torture the 'hood' and my husband get's to deal with the ghosts and goblins this year (and the dog)....

Too Funny!  We have three big dogs and they all go apesh*t whenever the mailman comes or anybody comes to the door.  You'd swear we're being invaded!!  Look! Look! They're coming to kill us All!!   We're only staying open for candy till dinnertime - or till we run out.  After that, we take our dinner downstairs, turn off the lights and hide out!

My dog needs valium after Halloween She goes hysterical whenever the doorbell rings so we throw her in with my son in his room for the duration.

The weather is agreeing with us this year and hopefully someone will be home with me tonight. Then I will get a lawn chair, a wine cooler and my bowl of candy and sit at the end of the driveway to give out candy. That way there will be less stress on everyone involved.  

That's my plan!

I have also camped on the driveway to 'ease' the stress on my canine family member!  It's actually quite fun - esp. if the neighbors are doing it too.  I'm leaving it up to my hubbie - and given the choice, he'll shut down the shindig about 15 mins. after it starts. 

I do know that I prefer the 'early crowd' to the late crowd.  We usually shut off our porchlight around 7:30 - 8:00 ---- that's 2+ hours, and I've seen enuf.  After 8pm is when ya get the 'wild ones'. 

Best of haunting to all - I am wearing a mask at a minimum to my softball game - hope I can see the darn ball with it on....
