For those of you that know me well enough you know I am an adrenaline junkie. Yes I am from NY and NASCAR is not the most likely sport of choice for a NY boy but what the heck. Been to a bunch of races and there is nothing else like it in the world of sports.

Question?

Are you a NASCAR fan and who do you like? Have you been to a race? Will you be attending a race this year?

Sometimes you have to slow down to go faster.

I am a fan!! Years ago, I even drove for four years. It was not a big deal just local tracks. I drove a 57 Chevy for two years then moved up to a 66 Malibu.  If I can find some of my pictures, I will post them. My brother drove a 55 Chevy then a 67 Pontiac. Once in my 57 I flipped end over end breaking a rear axle in a heat race. During the break we changed out the axle added a quart of oil and ran in the main. I ran using #33. My brother used #34. My 66 Malibu was named “Miss American Pie” I had forgot about that. Thanks Bar Keep

Maybe that flip explains a lot of things.

Yes and No.  I still want my Earnhardt back.  sniff

Have you been to a race?

Ummm...let's see.  Yes.
My mother was jumping the mudpuddles at the Nashville Fairgrounds speedway the night before I was born.  My father drove a dirt track car throughout my entire childhood.   My little brother was selling beer in the pits when he was 11.  hysterical hysterical hysterical

Our family vacations were spent in Daytona - July for the Firecracker 400 (as it was called back then) and again in February for Speedweek and the Daytona 500.

Again...I only saw the races from the pits.  hysterical hysterical hysterical
I helped serve birthday cake on Richard Petty's birthday and literally knew all the drivers and their families.

When I grew up and got married, my husband and I owned our own dirt track car.  We spent our weekends going from track to track.  I was in charge of the stopwatch and keeping up with our stats.

But I haven't been to a race for several years now.  Sometimes I miss it...like right now.   :ermm:

Doubtful.  But Bristol under the lights is always tempting.  love grin

BTW... Hi everybody!  hysterical hysterical hysterical
I've been missing for a few days...been tweaking my behind off on a new site and I've been in Attribute Hell.  sniff

This seems like as good a time as any to interject the statement I always make when someone mentions cars:

If god had wanted people to drive he wouldn't have created subways.

Hope this helps!

Well I have decided to defect to Hendrick Motorsports along with Jr. Was a Stewart/Gibbs racing fan but Toyota just doesn't sit well with me in NASCAR. Just can't wrap around the idea of a Camery being a race car.

For all those who know NASCAR you must know this name. Boyd Coddington. He passed away today at an early age of 63. See news article:

I watch some but not really a "fan". They keep talking about building a track near Baton Rouge.
The Alltell Nascar promotional car trailer and the driver stayed at the same hotel as me night before last.
So exciting.
