Erin,

What a great idea and in fact I have been to a place where you might want to pay a visit to there several times. You see there is this one street in Dublin with all the best shops. The name of the street is Grafton street. At the very bottom of Grafton street there is a statue of a very famous Dubliner from 300+ years ago. See picture below Sheila Erin and see if you can recognize her.  hysterical

The Dublin I used to know has changed quite a bit from the 70's & 80's. You will no longer find the sidewalk artists painting mural's around the foot of the statue above but it is still a very enchanting place to visit. I would reccomend a trip to the south west coast of Ireland if you ever get a chance. The ring of Kerry is quite the site to see with the contrasting greens, blue waters and believe it or not palm trees.

Hope you get the chance it is well worth the trip!!!

You all and your spell check ----- ROFL.

Joe  -  I can't see that which is right in front of me - I need a bigger photo to see the statue!  As you can prolly tell by my given name, I'm a tad bit Irish!  The generation above me has all been to Ireland; it's our turn now!  I could swing a week-10 days with my current life, but really would rather wait until the boys grow up and are out and about - and hang there 4 a while.

I too hope it comes true -  rah rah

Ok my mistake, sorry I was trying to be obvious with the Sheila reference.  hysterical hysterical hysterical hysterical

Why not make it a game now since you don't know. 100 credits to the first person who guesses the name of the person in the statue.

Molly Malone Statue
The Molly Malone statue is located at the end of Grafton Street, opposite Trinity College. Molly Malone was a semi historical/legendary figure who was commerated in the song 'Cockles and Mussels', a Dublin anthem.

She worked as a fishmonger but also as a working girl and died in one of the outbreaks of cholera that regularly used to sweep the city of Dublin.
