I will send you warm thoughts Kevin!

We are having unseasonably warm temperatures today. We are at 50 degrees with rain. It's suppose to drop to the low 30's and the rain will change to snow tonight. Which is fine with me, I would rather have a white Christmas than a muddy one! :wreath:

The sun finally came out here, and like you Sue, it's fairly warm in the 50s.  That's not that unusual for us though.

Kevin, wish I could trade you some of our warmth for some of your snow.
I really, really want a white Christmas.  :snowball:  :wreath:

I would definately take your warmth over this horrible rain we've been having for the last 2 days. Snow? White Christmas? I guess its nice, but I would only want a dusting on Christmas eve, and to be gone the day after. I hate what is left over from it, and I hate having to clean up the walks, cars etc.   :snoplow:  I don't need snow for a wonderful christmas.

Wisconsin has had some crazy weather the last few days.

A warm front the last couple of days has been creating heavy fog because of the snow on the ground. We had a really bad accident on I-90 near Madison Sunday. 100+ cars, 2 dead and 50+ in the hospital.

I woke up to thunder and lightning from about 7 - 10 AM. We had some heavy rains and our temps got up to mid 50s here and mid 60s in the Milwaukee area. That's Milwaukee's all time high temp for the whole month of Jan. It's still 46* here at 10:30 PM.

This afternoon we had some more rain here and south of Milwaukee, near the state line, there were several tornados. Between 4 and 6 PM as many as 5 may have touched down in and west of the Kenosha area. About 10 homes were pretty much destroyed and others damaged. Fortunately no one was seriously hurt.

This is only the second time in recorded weather history that Wisconsin has had a Jan tornado. The only other 1 was in 1967.

The rain has melted most of the snow and much of the ice that has coated EVERYTHING since before Christmas. If it has a chance to drain off before things get cold again tomorrow, maybe it won't be such a skating rink  for a while. But because of all the rain and snow melt there are flood warnings for some of the river areas.

The system that hit us is part of the storm that dumped all the snow in the Sierras a couple of days ago. Right now it runs from about the Canada border in Michigan down thru the Chicago area and all the way down to the panhandle of Texas. That's 1 huge nasty area of storm.

I hope others don't have such crazy weather or at least not the problems that go with it.

Carol

Carol, Northeast Ohio is having weird weather too! We set a record high temperature yesterday of 65.
I fired up the grill and cooked BBQ chicken outsided last night!
We are expecting more of the same today, but with some thunderstorms on the way. Great, more mud!

Everyone stay safe!

We are cooler today (50s) and rainy.  Carol can expect 'it' in a few days - perhaps.  Our storm systems of late have done some shifting on direction.

There were a series of tornadoes close by late last night, with 2 deaths and a couple of towns getting severely damaged.  Prayers and thoughts for any affected - and I wish the weather would normalize.  Having tornadoes in January is not typical at all for us - I'd prefer the snow and ice!

Boy you can say that again.

We are getting more rain today, tho the temps are closer to normal - 37* right now. By tonite it's supposed to be changing to snow. Only about an inch or so they say. As wet as things are right now, not much of it will survive. But if the temps drop too much, too long, we will be back to the "skating rink" back yard and driveway.

That's what scares me more than anything else. It's so hard to walk anywhere without worrying about slipping on the ice.

Oh for goodness sakes! My kids are home today! troll
We had winter blown back into Ohio last night. Their school is without power. Obviously we have it here at home. Not that it matters to the boys, they are still in bed!
