Once again Ebay is attempting to gain seller confidence and is offering free gallery as a promotional offer effective November 6th until Dec 12th.

There are rumors across the net on blogs and message boards that Ebay is going to make gallery free in the near future to attract more sellers and to enhance the buyer experience. Time will tell.

What do you think? Will you participate during this promotion?

If i happen to have some fixed price listing going on at the time I will keep it business as usual. I tend to ignore most of the promotions and stick to my business model rather then do something stupid and list more stuff that will contribute to the clutter. If I save a few bucks through my marketing channel (eBay) so be it, but it won't be by stepping up my listings for a free gallery picture.

I probably will not - just because I've avoided listing there for quite a while, unless I do it to market other items else where or I've got something that just 'must go quickly'.

I'm not convinced that making gallery free for all will truly affect the numbers that much.  They've really driven away a ton of 'small to medium' sellers, and those that remain probably already use all or some level of gallery in their business model.

The only way they will truly gain back a diverse group of sellers is if they hack the costs to list - by a ton.  Even if they offered lower stores again, I would not go there/back.  It's the 'individual items' that built that market and they will need to get those back to truly 'return to the magic times'.

Count me in!

Gallery is the fee that kills me and if I can get it for free the rest generally works itself out.

LOVE EBAY = HATE THE FEES :love-smiley-057:

chiquita I am curious to know where you found this information in the first place.  I looked at my ebay site, the help section, the announcement section, my messages and even to see if there was chat.  There was nothing that I could find.  It is wonderful to know ahead of time that there is going to be a sale, because I generally take advantage of it.  Until I am more comfortable with my zen cart ebay is my main venue.   The fact that you posted this link is wonderful, because now I can prep my auctions and then list them when the ebay promotion starts, however that being said.  If I had not run across your link I would have been hit up with another very hefty bill from ebay by listing all of my items a day sooner.  Thanks for posting.

Chiquita rocks!!! Thank you

Quilt - I'm super glad to see someone who can take this promotion and run with it - I hope you get tons more sales - yippee for ya!!

You raise a great point - I rarely know about ebaY promotions until the night before they roll it.  Do we see a different trend by where they're starting to give more notice for folks to plan?  I was super surprised when I first read this and it didn't start for almost 2 full days.

What is your take on all this folks?  Am I dreaming or is this the most advance notice we've ever been given for a sale on ebaY?  I like it, and always wanted it, so am not complaining - just wondering if anybody else noticed the early sharing... sniff

Quilt I have an RSS feed to a blog written by a former powerseller who has the pulse on Ebay. I was just sharing the love

Glad it helped you out, because I remember getting those notices on specials a day late, or like the same day and not being able to take advantage of them.

Here's to tons of sales
