Future ideas for SHS, please suggest an idea

Hi everyone,


Just wanted to start a new thread to discuss the future of www.sellershelpingsellers.org All suggestions are welcome and will be considered. I have some already but wish to hear what everyone else has to say. Just remember, sellers helping sellers goes beyond donations. It can be just about anything. For example a SHS member recommending another SHS member to a buyer. Power in numbers is a wonderful thing, the more we work together the further ahead in the online world and everyday life we will all be.

Hiya Joe and all - sometimes I have to 'read', then walk away and think for a bit!  I'm still not fully 'flowing' with creative juices, but did want to throw a few things out here (so Joe wasn't completely lonely)!

If we are talking specific 'actions', even for those who have stores, and have abandoned auctions in general we could:

1.  Have some 'benefit auctions'....individual items or 'mystery items' or "Benefit Boxes" - similar to mystery boxes, but with proceeds going to those in need of help.

2.  Set up 'stores' on the sites supporting SHS with items donated by sellers - SHS Stores - managed by a volunteer/two. 

These are some 'first thoughts' - relative to helping those in need.

Ways to help the effort - get the word out - for SHS:

1.  Sue's Blog - great job Sue - kudos!!! 

2.  A SHS Blog, a SHS Squidoo Page and/or SHS MySpace !!!  All tied back to the newly marvelous SHS site!

3.  Write some news articles and submit them to the 'free press release sites'.

OK - here's some starts for ya....shout back if I'm on the wrong track, and/or if I need to share more - altho I may not have any answers....

Great idea's and I think what can be done is any seller could hold there own benefit auction and donate the money through the TTP Ribbon. Maybe we could take a portion of the text from the SHS site and include it in each auction. Sort of combine both there.

Well I know who I would want in charge of a Blog which in effect is what the SHS site is a word press blog.

Any takers to do a Squidoo and/or Myspace? I am what you would call Squidpid and/or Myspupid.

Yep that is already on the list in my book 

Deb came up with a program that I would like to implement down the road. Just need her to post about it here.

Keep those ideas coming I think we can make a huge difference with this.

I'm just starting to learn WordPress.
I have everything set up from the domain name and free hosting that I won, but what has been consuming most of my time is the fact that I can't log in to my cpanel at Surpass Hosting. I've been going back and forth with routers, firewalls and I'm so confused.

I keep posting at the new site though www.diabeticride.com
So I'm a newbie with WordPress, just so you know. Let me know where you want me to start!
