I have been reading a lot about blujay vs. ecrater and who is better.  A lot of sellers are claiming that Blujay is more buyer friendly and gets more repeat customers so I started a store there a few weeks ago and to my dismay not even one sale yet.  I know I am inpatient but I put over a hundred items up.  Anyone have any luck with sales on Blujay?  Not sure if I should waste anymore time on it or not.  Thanks for any input.

Hi toyfads,

It's like comparing apples to oranges personally. eCRATER has more traffic, better google placement from what I can see, but Blujay will allow HTML and some customization to your store which is a plus. I have had sales on both sites but I do find eCRATER tends to provide more frequent sales.

All in all Blujay is not a bad idea but the main goal for me and as it should be for most sellers is to use the alternative sites, marketplace sites & eBay as a marketing channel for your own website where you are in complete control.

Hope this helps.

I haven't tried Blujay myself Toyfads, but I have seen a lot of complaints on PSU about how slow sales are there.  It seems people either do very well there or do nothing at all - maybe certain niches do well there??  I do notice that my ecrater items show up remarkly well in google searches, usually on the first page, which makes me very happy.

Joe,

That does help thanks.  I do need to get my own site and hopefully I will have that done sometime this fall.  I refuse to sell on ebay right now, the fee's were killing me, especially with the gas prices the way they are, I have to drive a lot to get my inventory and have to keep that into consideration to.  I may just go back for the Christmas season, not sure though.

Shelley,

Maybe you are right, it might just depends on what you sell.  The problem I run into is the longer some of my products go unsold the less valuable they become and the less money I can make off of them.  Well I guess it was worth a try, I think I will let the items sit for about a month and then just pull them if I do not get any sales.  I need to focus my energy on what works, which right now is ecrater.

I can certainly understand that - some newer items only get the higher price tag when they first come out.  Of course, there's no expense to you to leave them listed at both places for the busier season starting up in the fall.  Nice to get all the exposure you can.  Best of luck with your toys.
