Might be  :offtopic This is a question that all of us must be wondering. We get advise on how to make our stores attractive, on key words and what wonderful products we have. When a visitor from say google comes to our site they look at the page and leaves I suppose the information they were looking for was not there! We do share your wares get a few hits from there and they look at 1 page and leave! We advetise on sites like this and zencart showcase get huge amount of hits looking at your site and leave after looking at 1 page. My question is what do you have to make them shop like they were in a Walmart, target, or gift shop.

Come See What The SECRET Is All About!

Hi Bob,

I sell makeup, hair care products, skin care products - products people use everyday. That is what I contribute my success on selling online to. My eCrater store has a variety of items in it  that people shop for during holidays, special occasions or just as a treat for themselves.

Either your customer is not seeing the product that they want or the price isn't what they want to pay, or they remembered they had to do something else online and they leave your store... The list can go on and on. Supplement your store with items that go with the kinds of items you sell. Book lights, book marks, book shields, even candles and teas if you want to stretch it. This is my opinion, as it may differ from others here, and I know this works because I was making money on eCrater where my store was filled with EVERYTHING.

Keep at it Bob. The buyers are out there. They will find you. Just remember - there are a lot of stores out there. Make sure yours is the best to make people stay and shop. Get your store into as many free SEO directories as you can. Advertise your store. Get your name out there. And buyers will come.

Hi Bob,

From what I see you are on the right track but still need to make a few minor adjustments to your homepage.

I saw that you removed the link to Auctions Worldwide from your homepage. Great move Bob because with the position of that link it diverted the spiders away from your site and to that auction site which is a huge no no in terms of getting indexed. A few changes i would make to your homepage to make it more inviting to buyers is add more product and tone down all the empty spaces with the 10% coupon. Add more text and go up a hair in the font with that text. The clickable text is awesome and the more you have the deeper the spiders will go inside your cart.

Now here is a few other suggestions for ya Bob:

1) Sell at Amazon and brand yourself through there. You are a media seller and from what I see with Amazon you can't afford not to sell there if you sell media. Try the Amazon Marketplace to start out. I have been selling there myself for about 8 months or so now and have done extremely well. Media is not my main deal either so I am sure this will work for you Bob.

2) Consider Having Deb install google checkout in your cart as another form of payment. After that is done run a small adwords campaign for say $10 for however long you like but link your adwods account to your google checkout account. By doing so your items in google products search will show up with the google checkout logo next to them as well as your adwords ads.

Hope this helps Bob and I wish you all the success in the world.

I think Robert did a really good job with his site.  I remember what it used to look like when he was at ECA.

One thing I would do though is remove your Categories from the Header as you already have them in your sidebox.
Just something that I did.  You had the same template that I do for my Graphic Site so I know that is something
that you need to do in your Admin area.

Good Luck Robert and nice to see you again.

With Christmas Selling almost over I've been remodeling for Valentine's day. Hopefully with lots of sales. Trying to get more linked words on front page to get Google to find more items and get shoppers to dig deeper into my web site. I had a Christmas shopper point a mistake in the zone shipping that I didn't catch. You have to use the 2 two character ISO country codes and not the 3 two character ISO country codes. I wonder how many sales I missed because of this.   :amsmilng:
