sniff   sniff   sniff

mmmmmwwwwaaaaa! Now I'm TOTALLY confuzzled!
I got the first coupon to work (I think...), but I have not clue how to do this one....
Can you give this dumb *ss a clue? Step by step maybe... sniff sniff

You will need to go to your Google Checkout account.
Click on the 'Tools' tab.
Look in the left hand side and you will see Coupons.
Just follow their instructions.

Then somewhere on your website, you will need to tell people that if they use GC there is a such and such discount.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU
I really appreciate your help Barkeep!

Ok, Mr Barkeep! I need you to rescue me once again....  sigh...
Somehow, and don't ask me HOW I did it, but I had changed the Welcome letter. Now, I didn't do any fancy mumbo jumbo stuff (way way too dumb  for that!) Now, I need to make changes to it, and I cannot find out how I did it to begin with. I didn't search templates, didn't do anything in the "backend" area (don't even know HOW to get there! ugh!  ). Can you please, please direct me to the dummies area where I can do this as simply as I did it the first time... sheesh!  smileymilkcarton
Thanks in advance!

The only way to change the Welcome Email is in the 'back end' files, so you had to be in there at sometime or another.  hysterical

Here is a link to the Zen Forum Wiki for how to make changes and which file to look for:
http://tutorials.zen-cart.com/index.php?article=20

It explains it much better than I would.

   Miss Wench!
Ain't no way I was there!  hysterical  I definately would have remembered that one! I saw that tutorial and shook my head. I don't even know what they are saying!  I do know that it was around the same time I was setting up the discount coupon. And for some reason, I vaguely (and VERY vaguely) recall editing like I was in a page thing, like you get when you are in tools/pages.  Unfortuately, I can't duplicate what I did. But I do know for sure, it was not done this way... oh lord! I found the secret tunnal and now it's collapsed!

Oh oh! this is definately my hat!  asshat2i

How do you know the Welcome Email has been changed?

Did you look at it under Admin>Tools>Welcome Email  ?
What is the difference?  Could it be something you installed?

There is absolutely no way to change it other than going into the files.

Thats whats so funny and puzzling. Yes, the letter has definately been changed. It shows my added comments about saving 10% on your order and 5% if you use googlecart. I do not remember exactly how I did it, but I do know that I did not do it the way the tutorial says to do it.  So there is a fluke way, and I found it. Only problem... I can't find it again! This has me rolling. I tried to repeat myself to no avail. The tutorial, to me, is not even in english!  breakpc1 And being a total  .   But I am still working on it! I will (with help of my friends of course) find out what I did...

I FOUND IT! I FOUND IT! Well.... with help of course! And I do remember doing it this way...

                     Ifireworks3

Gift Certificates/Coupons > Coupon Admin > click on coupon in question (in my case new customers) > edit > insert text > preview > confirm.

and I inserted what I wanted in this area.

and walla! Email had been changed!
So.. you see, I didn't need to go into the backend doohicky.   hysterical  hysterical  hysterical

I didn't realize you were just wanting to change the 'discount coupon message' that's in the welcome email.  From your post I assumed you were wanting to make changes to the 'email' itself.

As you figured out, yes that is done inside the cart under coupons.  hysterical hysterical hysterical

Well of course it is!
Haven't you heard of it? Its on the same line as thingamabob, whatchamacallit....    hysterical
But in order to understand those extremely "technical" terms... you have to be of AARP age!  nyah nyah

I guess it depends on what part of the Country you come from. Up here we consider the backend doohickey a place when waste is disposed of.  But i guess that would be a technical term for it too.
