DoB on 'Register' page

Hello, This is going to be the 1st of a huge number of questions as I begin to investigate my new cart. (Heaven help you all  )
 
Is there any way to change the presentation of the DoB request when registering?
The default is US based i.e. - month/date/year and it gets me every time! The vast majority of my customers are from the UK and we enter the info so - date/month/year. Relying on you experienced zenners here!

It can be done, but has to be changed within the code.
Personally, I always just turn the DOB requirement off on my carts.
