I would like to set up individual shipping charges per item for some of my products, however I have a flat rate shipping module set up right now.  I have tried going in and adding the per item shipping module also and when you do a test buy, you get the 2 different options of shipping which I do not want because the customer can choose the cheapest way to ship the item.

Most of my items are coming from my drop shipper but I do have my skin care that comes from my home and I can ship the skin care products less expensive, so how would I do this?

Try turning off all the other choices for shipping that will only allow the one option.

No goto Modules > Shipping Modules

Leave your per item one alone but change all the other shipping modules that are showing as green from true to false.

OK I have that but I still need my flat rate for my drop shipping items!  That was my problem!

Will it still work if I leave my flat rate mod and my Per Unit , perweightunit mod on?

Sorry Bays Zen at this time will not allow you to mix the per item and weight that I know of. If it were me I would stick with the per weight but you are welcome to search the Zen forums for a work around. Note to bays - if you end up with a work around be sure to make sure it is compatible with the google checkout mod as well because that can cost you big time $$$.

OH Yes!  I know the problems with the Google Checkout mod all too well!  What a nightmare that was!

What in tarnation am I going to do now?  LOL

My only other option would be to shut down my site and go in and change everything!
I would have to add weights to all of my products.  I have about 900 products.
OH Bother Me, I'm always and I say always doing things the hard way.

It would be easier to just do a third site!  Or I could change my domain name on my graphic site and redo things in that one.

Thanks for your help!

I would have to agree about doing a third site but that would also depend on your host. I am allowed 10 domains through my host. Mixing dropship items with items on hand has always been something I have shyed away from. I am setup exactly that way. Dropship items on one site, items on hand divided up on sites that fit the type product I am selling. Mixing them creates a shipping challenge as you now see but seperating them will also give you some better SEO results.

OK I have worked on this for two days and I can not get it to work!

Which I knew that but I never give up and thought I would keep trying and go to my other site that just has free shipping!  I had all the mods just how they needed to be and all payment methods were working except that darn GoogleCheckout!  So I guess I have to have a third site.  This just isn't fair.  I thought that my skin care could be on my graphic site, I was only going to add a few.

HMMMMMMM,  I have a thought.

Joe walked me through shipping mods and it all worked out perfectly.  I learned to tweak from Deb and adjusted everything to work with my weights.  I am proud of the shipping now if I could only get the rest of it to work  hysterical

Well then we need to do a test sale so I can see if it works.

Point me in the direction of your free shipping items.

I want to do a test buy with a free shipping and an item that has a shipping fee and try both paypal and googlecheckout if that is alright with you.
