Hi Folks.

We have just integrated Google Checkout as a direct payment method.

What this means is you can now use Google Checkout along side Paypal.

Your buyers will be directed right to Google Checkout as soon as they buy the item. No more waiting to send an invoice.

This will helpspeed things along for alot of sellers including myself.

This also means you can pay your IWAC Fees through Google Checkout also.

Not that this will apply to many sellers.

Enjoy.

Not yahoo... Google!

Thanks Erin, it was another very smooth addition and no glitches reported so far.

It also expands the payment options accepted and will bring in a wider buyer/seller audience.

Hopefully

Rob - as a related, but slightly different point....a wise seller a while back told me to 'not' have these (auto-pay) on.  Why, you ask?  Because when you acknowledge the sale, and confirm preferred payment method - you can upsell at best, at a minimum - share that you do combine shipping and that you will offer a % discount if......

Another way to build a relationship with a customer!!

And thats some good advice.
BUT... this is where you get clever also and a small feature on IWAC comes into play...

You state in your stores shipping information page and on the item listing that you offer shiping discounts on multiple items purchased. BUT the buyer must wait for an invoice.

You click send invoice link and change the shipping accordingly (provided the buyer has agreed to this). You then click proceed.

The buyer can still then choose to pay via a direct payment method such as Google Checkout or Paypal, or whatever else is on offer from the seller.

Just a thought as I see alot of sellers say in the listings they offer shipping discounts and to wait for an invoice, and will then have to send an invoice through the payment processor and then mark as paid in members area.

Far too much messing around when you can do it all from one place, the members area of the site your selling on.

Edited to add:- The buyer seller relationship needent be lost, but to speed the process up will keep the new age buyer alot happier.

OK - that makes sense.....so of course, I can't wait to see it in 'action'....

I have to say that - no matter what you tell buyers/lookers, they do not always pay attention.  I had a sale night before last on another site - buyer put in a quantity of 11.  Well...I had 1 -  - the 'cart' took 11 items x $x.xx + 11 shipping x $x.xx.  The total was $120+....

And - they PAID it!!

I saw it 'that night' (thank goodness) and quickly sent a note.  I waited a while, no answer.  By morning, I had a negative from the buyer and a nasty email asking for a refund.

I sent a refund immediately to the buyer, apologized and lalalalala.  I very politely suggested that multiple item purchases do get a combined invoice - and discounted shipping!  I also politely told her that it suggests she wait for an invoice.

Long story short, she wrote back and thanked me for explaining the process to her.  I sent a you are welcome, and then explained that all sellers I know also offer combined shipping.  And - if she was ever in doubt how much to pay, she should just send a quick note asking.

Needless to say, I got a huge thank you for taking my time to explain it to her and she turned my neg into a positive...

So - the ability to 'auto-pay' has this time turned out 'good'.  I had another that ... even tho the listing said the item was 'out of stock', somebody ordered it anyway and then gave me a neutral -  - cuz the item was out of stock!

But - I'll give it a whirl!!! We'll see what happens - eh?

Folks i am really sorry to have to inform you of this.

But Google Checkout is not working correctly with IWAC Stores.

We know what is wrong and we are working fast to bring this back to you.

Again we appologise for this iconvenience and all your items will not be effected.

If you have Google Checkout set up as a direct payment method this will not be the case as from now. But you can still accept GC as an offline payment method.

There is no need to change any details in your members area as all information will still be needed when we get this great feature back to you.

Again please accept our appologies on this matter.

Regards
