Check any tubes or "bendable" areas in the vacuum.  (Like where the dirt goes from the beater bar area to the dust cup/bag.)  Cat and dog hair can build up in the turns and slowly close it off.  Also, check the brush and make sure it has not worn out.  I have one vac that works fine on the "shag" carpet in my room but will not work on any other carpet.  If not that then it may be wearing out.

On the tub...it may be stained permanently.  Try using a good cleaner on it...think spick and span or mr clean.  What has happened is the oils/chemicals in the grout have soaked into the plastic coat on the tub and stained it.  (Just like spaghetti sauce will do to a plastic container.)

Thanks Kevin 4 the speedy response! I am thinking that the caulk issue may only be fixable by 'thick lines'.  The good news - I can 'do that' - got lotta experience now.  I'll try another one/two then finish that darn project.

I will also take the vacuum apart again and try to use our plumbing snake to go into bends/tubes.  I had another vacuum that I use mostly on hard floor surfaces - loved it....and it decided to stop sucking.  I took that darn thing apart, and poked around in it - and found a small water bottle lid that was 'perfectly' aligned at a point where it was stopping 'everything'.

OK - back to the tools and back to the vacuum issue of the day!     nitpicker

My brake light is on in my trooper.  Has been for a long time.  My hubby (the mechanic) checked it.. not low on anything and pads all fine etc... stumped he took it to the shop we use and they checked it... turned out it was just a sensor...we had it fixed... happened again... so basically it boils down to our sensors don't work right...

Now i have brake light on ... forever LOL

hi  all   i think   unplug  the sensor

hysterical  hysterical  hysterical I know the feeling!  My Check Engine light has been on for two years now.

I just had a sensor replaced in my vehicle.  It costed me a few hundred dollars, but I could tell that it served a purpose.  I fear what may have happened if it had not been replaced.

I'm back.........................welcome to my project 'fun'.... sniff

OK - this is a photo (or 3 photos) or a shower wall in the 3rd tile shower of my home...

Had a loose tile - and according to the 'internet', I'm to pull it off to put back up -  !!  Well - don't know about you, but it just doesn't look right underneath - eh?

So - I think I'm supposed to 'patch' it, then seal it and then reattach the tile.  Anybody wanna give me step by step instructions - cuz I have no idea what I'm doing!!!  Is this a job for duct tape?   hysterical hysterical hysterical hysterical

Bolding mine.

Ok here we go:

1) Pull of 4 more tiles to the right carefully.
2) Remove 3 more tiles going up from the corner.
3) Remove all tiles in the field then to have a Square area of 5 tiles high and 5 tiles across exsposed.
4) Inspect that area for rot.
5) If the Rot ends at that point find the next stud to attach preferably cement board.
6) Remove the damged area of drywall to the stud and square off the top edge bout 2 inches below the tile left on the wall.
7) Proceed if again that is all the damaged area to your local Home Depot or Lowes and purchase the following.
                a) I sheet durarock (cement board, if not then purchase a sheet or green drywall)
               b) Purchase a small pail of tile mastic.
               c) 1 tile trowel
               d) 1 small pail of, looks like non-sanded white grout, premixed.
               e) 1 tile float
               f) 1 drop cloth
               g) 1 sponge
               h) 1 box 1 & 1/2" coarse drywall screws
               i) purchase 1 scrap piece of 2x4 (nothing fancy just a piece of scrap you will need this to reattach the cement board later).

8) once these steps have been accomplished post back here for installation instructions (I will be waiting).

Hope this helps!!!

  - I need a drink....a strong one!

OK - I can pop the tiles (I hope) - do I really got do that many?  That will keep me busy for tonight - plus I know they need to be cleaned (the back and sides).

I have:
               b) Mastic
               c) tile trowel
               d) small pail of, looks like non-sanded white grout, premixed.
               e) tile float
               f) drop cloth
               g) sponge
               h) 1 & 1/2" coarse drywall screws
               i) purchase 1 scrap piece of 2x4 (nothing fancy just a piece of scrap you will need this to reattach the cement board later).

And....just may have A....will need to ask my hubbie (who is out of town)!!  Is this a day project, an hour project or a week project?  Keeping in mind, I do know how to grout and caulk, and patch walls - but never done 'this' before!

If it's super challenging, I may need to delegate it!!!

I need to take another photo/two.  I've got some 'rot' on the outside of the shower also - (darn boys) - My issues may be bigger than suspected -  sniff

I have a hard time sitting still, so meanwhile - I've been caulking around windows - trying to warm my toes.  And now....all I can find is WHITE - I love clear - I can be messy.... hysterical hysterical hysterical toast toast

Thanks Joe for the list - I am going to dig out what I got and work on popping tiles tonight....sigh - gotta have this shower done by 12/17 - we're having a variety of guests for the holiday - and....need all 3 showers working!!!

PS - you sure I can't use duct-tape?

Can you please document the events as they happen? I would love a synopsis of the "Twas The Shower Before Christmas Story".

Help would be a good thing!!!

From the photos you showed I have determined that this Tile problem is inside the shower. By looking at the pictures I would say you also have some Rot on the wall that the shower door is attached to. If it were me and you are pressed for time, I would deal with the area you are working on and worry about the other wall after the Holiday's.

I have a hard time sitting still,

Sounds like a personal issue, sorry can't help ya there.

Editing mine.

Sorry yes you do need to pop, much better term, remove that many.

Thanks Wes - not my major either.....

OK - big question - how in the world do you get the old glue, wallboard, grout and other off of these darn tiles?  They've been soaking and I've been scraping since day 1 - but.....there is still a variety of crapola on them.... sniff

Meanwhile, I did return to the previous incomplete project and finished that.  All my trim and the inside of my front door - entry is complete (finally)....The master bath trim and the 4 doors (ugh....) is painted.  All that's left in there is the toilet area trim - which is in a holding pattern until 9am CST - when I'll turn on the shop vac - not caring who is and who is no longer sleeping!!!

My parents arrive a week from Monday - 3 days sooner than I thought -  !!

My husband has a torn meniscus, and needs surgery -

We have no holiday decor up - and may not this year -

Is the bar open yet - cuz...the best is yet to come - the Chiefs play today -  hysterical hysterical

Any ideas on the tile clean up would be great!  Also, one of my boys knocked over my 'chemicals' and the upstairs landing carpet now has 2 bare spots - ate right thru those fibers lickity split!!    troll troll

Erin, I have not one single tip for removing the glue on the tiles...Hopefully Joe does.  (I've always been lucky and had spare tiles around...)

Make sure your husband had that torn meniscus fixed.  If he doesn't he could end up messing up that knee permanently.

Throw rugs over the bare spots until you can patch them.

YIPES!  Your list is way toooooooo long for this guy.  Holiday decorations can be put up any time.  It might be "interesting" to have your visiting relations put up the tree...then again, maybe not.

Erin from the looks of the tile in the picture they look like common gloss or matte tile. You are in a bind and fixed for time so incase you are not able to knock off the major areas of glue the good news is you should be able to find the exact tile at your local hardware store (could be a matte finish, hard to tell but still very common).
