I think its a great alternative to paypal but this week I have had 2 phone calls from customers.  One of them my 10 year old son picked up instead of me or my husband.  I think many customers may not realise that some of us are running a small business out of our house and an e-mail would be the best way to contact.  Geeze, if this keeps up I may have to start answering my home phone "Toy Fads how can I help you?"

We started having the same problem with our driftwood business, but it wasn't related to Google Checkout.   

I finally got one of those online 800 numbers for $5.00 month at Kall8.  I was able to record a message so it answers the phone "Old River Rat Driftwood" and tells them to please leave a message.  When we get a call...I get an email alert with the voice mail message attached.  I love it! 

I actually think having the phone number listed on our website improved our business too.

Thanks Crabby!  Thats a great idea, I think it is a good idea to have a number for customers to call, just not my home number!   Had no idea there were services like that.  I gotta smite you for that one!

I think GC is an excellent alternative to Paypal. However i must say i have never had the phone call issues.

Crabby your idea with the number is excellent. I noticed thats for the US I have done a search for the UK group thats on here and found these
