Alana,

Here is a silly question. Do you submit to google base for your sites? Also is there a google base feeder mod in the cart system you are using. You may have answered this in another thread but I tried searching a few of your items from the Cherished site in google products search with no results.

When I did the original search in google products search I was using exact title and showed no results after checking about 5 titles. Sorry for the confusion.

now I put in alanas cherished treasures in that link and got 1200 products
I put in alanas books and magazines and got 2200 products.

So beats me how they do that.

You're right, I was confused.  When I said:

I just did a Google Base Products search for Alana's Vintage Collectibles and it said there were 3500.

I wonder if it depends on exactly how you search.  I went to the Google Base home page, clicked products and then entered it into the search box at the top and told it to search Base.

I wasn't aware there was a difference between Google Base and Google Products.
Joe has since explained the differences to me via MSN and I now understand what he was saying and trying to show us.

Maybe we can convince him to start a new thread and go into greater detail about it.

That would be awesome!  One question in 'current world' - other than sellers, how would a buyer or a potential buyer know that googlebase even exists?

I know a while back, there was discussion that googlebase would/might over time take the place of google products, but....it hasn't yet - and google denied that then.

So - how's a surfer/browser/shopper to even know about googlebase?    - I just don't get it!!!  writers block

Oh thank you Erin for posting that here. I will explain what and how I was trying to help Alana in a new thread maybe later today or tomorrow. Right now I am still recovering from the MSN lashing The Tavern Wench laid on me last night, which in the end she had to eat crow because as it turns out, I was right.  nyah nyah   nitpicker  Look for my thread on base verses products as soon as my recovery  from my MSN lashing ends.  whip

Hi Alana - I do!  There are 3 listings/items from Marian's Vintage ....Clothing and then your 'category' from your store.  For giggles, I searched Google Products, and they did not come up in my search results!

Hope this helps!  wave

I don't even know how to search for Google Products in Google without doing a search for Google Products to take me there.

Here is what I see:

Alana - I'll switch systems in a few mins. and do a screen shot for ya!  I've got slightly different results, which happens.  One night a while back, I was yakking on the phone with a couple sellers - one 'here' in my state and one in TX.  Long story short, we were searching both Google and Google Products for the exact same search string and getting different results.

Can't explain why - but we were!

I'll go do this from my other 'puter - that has the screen shot program!!  BRB!

Here is what I see in Products

I see my store listed at the bottom Alana and Paul's Collectibles and here is what I see when I open that page

Now why Google has not changed my store name to Alana's Vintage Collectibles I do not know, but my account all says Alana's Vintage Collectibles in Google.

So this is very confusing to me.

These are my results for straight up 'google' search:

These are my top page results for 'google products' search:

And these are my bottom page results for 'google products' search:

Even when I click thru for more, I do not 'get' your store.  Don't ask me why, just know that different results are given to different 'searchers'!!!
