Ok folks, this is my first step in the water with a website and I'm needing some experienced peeps to tell me what else I need to do.

I've been selling online for 2 years and last Christmas decided I'd take a huge step and get a web site of my own. It's taken an enormous amount of effort (I was a nurse/midwife before with no IT/WWW experience :blink), but I opened this July rah rah. I'm thrilled seeing my ideas in black and white and so excited I feel like my grandaughter when she gets a parcel!

So, go for it and please give me your honest opinion
Thanks

Susie what a great idea for a website. Finding fair trade items in the US is much harder than it should be.
I buy fair trade coffee, and am so thrilled to see you bringing a variety of items to buy on your site.

I am not sure that many people are aware of fair trade, most of the focus here is on organic items. Maybe you could share with the Crabby members about fair trade, and a little bit about why you chose to start up a site.

If you don't have a blog, I suggest you start one. Just writing about fair trade and the products available to consumers would be awesome.

Thanks Chiquita, Thats a very good idea and one I must explore! :beers

Its exciting to hear you say that Fair Trade isn't widely available across the pond and obviously I hope to be able to tap into that!
I haven't sold much to international customers and I feel this is a route I really need to open up.

Just wanted to say  to everyone

I haven't been around very much since I joined and feel cross with myself for that, but have had lots of family and personal worries recently, not least of which is my daughter's 2nd pregnancy which has become problematic.
She's 33 weeks now but the baby stopped growing 6 weeks ago..... and we're all obviously very worried and as a midwife, I'm finding it doubly hard.

On top of that I'm having a complete makeover of my site which I discovered had been so badly coded as to be almost dangerous (will never touch that particular designer again  ), so am being zenned and will hopefully re-open early in the New Year.

I must thank Deb for her work here as she is going to re-design the site for me  , and has already come up with a perfect banner - see below  . The photo she used is my most special place in the world. Its in Yorkshire, the hill is Ingleborough above my mum's village, and the limestone pavements on the left is where a large number of my extensive family, including my much missed mum are scattered. Just beyond the drystone wall is where I did all my revision as a child and also for my nursing finals, it's peaceful, beautiful and you can see for miles.

I sincerely hope you all have a lovely Christmas and enjoy a Happy, Peaceful and Safe New Year
