It seems google has changed the way they look at web sites. Before they used to visit my site a lot of times hitting anywhere from 1 page to 200 pages every time. But now they at least on my site 1 time a day but hitting up to 800 pages in one shot. Has anyone else seen this or is it just me.
I see it all the time, some days more then others but there are several determining factors on how much and how often the bots will index your site. I would have to say that what happened with the 800 page views is, you saw a deep crawl from Google. It may have been that you recently added a bunch of product to the site and uploaded to Google base. It could have been you submitted your XML site maps. The server you are on also plays a big role, does your host set the server up so it is inviting to the bots & spiders (I know your host does Bob so that is a definite factor). Your linked text on the homepage is another contributing factor.
Add those factors with the endless other possible factors and it says one thing Bob. You are doing it right and should be proud of it. Congrats!!!!
