Martha - so glad you got to go out and about today!  We are all pulling for ya and here's my big  for you!  You got a great guy there and both of you are in my heart and my prayers!!

I would like to think all the people who are helping me. It means alot to me you will never know how much it cheers me up. I have had a good day today. I was able to go out and not to a Dr's. office. I didn't know you could do that. The next months to come are going to be hard. I better have my hair by the end of this. I am on so much meds. I don't know up from down. So I hope this makes since. I tryed to not take so much won't do that again. I layed on the coach unable to move just crying I hurt so bad. So I would reather be dopey until the pain is gone. I do feel like I am in a nightmare and I will wake up but I guess that is to much to ask for. I am trying to be positive it is hard but I am. Liz the book helps.  Just keep me in your prayers and hope that I get well. I would like to see my grandkids grow up and my daughter married. And I want to grow old with Harold he could not make it without me.

 

Awwwwwww..... Martha.... we want that for you too!!!

I am so glad you are enjoying the book. You are in my prayers every day. I am sending you white healing light.
It is so good for your spirits to get out when you can, and to play just a bit. You "will" be here with us for a very long time, don't you doubt that for a minute.
 

Besides who else could handle Harold but you.

Hi everyone I haven't been here in a while it's just been kind of crazy for me and I just haven't seemed to find the time.  But when I read about Flying High in another forum I said I have to make time and get over there to donate what I can to help out.

Erin I think I said this in the other forum but Thanks again for posting about this there otherwise I may still not know about it.

Martha had a better day today but tried too do to much around the house and is now hurting more. Monday starts her treatments. She is concerned about them. Not knowing how she will react is a big mental weight on her and me. This is happening to her body but it has changed my like as well. Two of her meds are out. We hope to get some more Monday. The superbowl and the hat promotions are truly a blessing for us. A lot of people are doing things to help her I can't say enough about how much it means.

I wish everyone could win these promotions but I guess everyone already has.

Harold I'm also glad to hear she had a better day but also sorry to hear she tried to do too much.  I hope she can take it easy today and that all goes well for her tomorrow.  My thoughts will be with you both.

Yes Harold, we each have already won!  We are doing this out of a desire to help in what ever way we can and in doing so...we have won by far bigger prizes than the ones being offered!!!

I want you to remember to do something today and each and every day...tell Martha how much you love her. Having love for each other through this is possibly the most important thing you can do from here on out!

Oh, and one other very important thing...for both of you...find something to laugh about, or at least crack a smile about, every day.  I know this will be very hard over the next few weeks but...if you can do this, it really will help.  It doesn't matter if its a silly little child's joke or a funny picture or a comedy on TV...find something to smile and laugh about.  Laughter truly is "the best medicine" and it is often the hardest one to find.

Okay...I have got to get out of this "existential" thing for a while...I'm beginning to think about wearing white robes and shaving my head and passing out flowers on the street corner! (Definitely not a pretty sight!  )  Off to find coffee...that will bring me back to my normal self...

I just woke up. Haven't sleep that long in months. Martha is watching a movie on lifetime. She seems calm and quite. Hopefully the day will stay this way. That would be a nice change.

Tell Martha that I'm a huge lifetime fan!  I watch it often, esp. when I want to 'not think'. 

Kevin is very right - love and laughter - 2 key ingredients for 'health' - mental, physical, spiritual and emotional!

I don't watch lifetime when my darling husband is around... he says every movie is exactly the same...

They're all about a spiritual, psychoic, bi-sexual lesbian adultress with a brain tumor and a cocaine problem who has 6 children from 7 different men and has issues with letting go of past baggage. 

I told him that may be true but it gives us "normal" women an outlet... plus I learn a lot form them so he should mind his p's and q's... In fact... I think I had to remind him that I was watching the Loraina Bobbit story...

We went to the wizard today. They took more xrays and measurements. They put some marks on Martha where they want to concentrate the radiation. That starts for real tomorrow at 4:20pm. Her first chemo is set for 9am Wensday 4-5 hours then straight to radiation as soon as that is done. Going to be a long day. Then it is every day at 1:20pm for who knows how long.

She is sleeping a lot!!! When she is awake it seems like she is confused. I hope it is the meds.
