Harold - thanks 4 the update and it does sound as 'if' Wednesday will be a long day!  Do yourself and Martha a 'good deed' - do a 'favorite food' day tomorrow.  No matter if it's healthy or not - plan, if you can, each meal with a favorite food included!

We did this for a friend of mine who battled cancer.  Later, she was very grateful as so many things didn't taste good when she was having the treatments. 

I think Martha sleeping is a good thing!  I think this will help her body be rested and open and relaxed for that which is soon coming.  I'm confused every day --- so can't comment there...

Harold I agree with Erin I think Martha sleeping is a good thing. She is going to need the rest.  Erin also had an excellent idea to have a favorite food day tomorrow.  It's so true my Mom went through the same thing while she was having the treatments food did not taste the same to her.  So she didn't eat as well as she should.  The doctors told her to try and drink those Ensure shakes.  I hope all goes well on Wed. You will both be in my thoughts.

These are great ideas. She does say nothing taste right. I just asked her what her favorite food is, she said steak. So I guess I will try to get that for her.

I'm quite certain that her appetite already is affected, so you may have to do some 'creative thinking'.  Ice cream perhaps, pudding, or a favorite cheese?  Trying to think out-loud here!

Martha had her first radiation treatment. She said it was not as bad as she thought. Our daughter made pepper steak over rice for us. I had two helpings. Martha was talking to my mom on the phone. She told her she wanted some Chips Ahoy cookies. The next thing I know my dad is at the door with a bag of them. He told Martha that they were all for her. Someone help me out here and tell Martha to share them with me. Tomorrow will the first big wizard day. Chemo for 4-5 hours in the morning followed up with a radiation treatment.

Funny thing about chips ahoy... they changed the recipe sometime in between me being a kid and now because I tasted them not too long ago and they are so different from what I remember.

Erin... you dinner sounds scrum-diddly-uptious... I had to go to the grocery store after work so I just picked up hoagies and a fresh bag of Herr's chips while I was there... I didn't feel like having to cook after working all day and food shopping... they were yummy!!!

Platzki - we got a ton of snow supposedly headed our way - Kevin is sending it I guess cuz he got hammered in CO!  Anyhoo - when that's forecasted, I always stock up on comfort food!

I'm such a ding-dong - since I was in the cooking mode, I cooked 5 lbs. of chicken breasts - used a bunch in the chili and then also made chicken salad for sandwiches (tomorrow....snow day or not - I'm ready)!!

Tomorrow night will be a YOYO night here - my hubbie is outa town and I made sgetti last night - so choice will be sgetti or chicken chili - betcha the boys try to go for cereal -  !!

I think I gotta run out and get milk tonight - just bought 2 gallons yesterday, and we're down to less than 1.  I don't even drink the stuff - what a pain in the bottom!!

Love all cookies - love everything actually - except beef liver.... !!

Harold - I'm so glad the radiation was not as bad as expected!  I hope that tomorrow goes super well for you all and glad that Martha got a 'craving' fixed!  I'm not gonna tell her to share - instead....'get your own box' - oh - wrong product - eh?   

JK - if she takes a nap, you can always sneak one/two?!

You did it. One day down. Break time up into little bitty pieces. After each big hurdle think of a special reward for yourself. Today  cookies, and tomorrow what sounds like a special comfort, be it food or any other thing. 

Now Harold you can have a treat too. 

I will keep on praying, and sending healing light to you. Glad you are getting rest and Chips Ahoy. The little things make a big difference.

Erin - Where are you that you're getting snow??  I'm right outside of Philly and it was 58 degrees today!!!  It hasn't even snowed yet and it's Feb 5th!!  I feel jilted!!!! 

I'm coming over to eat, that's why I want to know where you live!!!!
