TPG - Continued prayers for you and Martha!  I'm super glad to hear that she's getting good rest today - that may be just what's needed.  It looks as if Kevin has some first hand information and experience.  He's an awesome resource, and I'm certain he'll share all that he can!

You can post here anytime - and tell Martha hugs, kisses and well-wishes!  Thursday will come soon enough and perhaps right now - the 'not-knowing' is a huge factor for her depression.  Keep us all posted - please!!

An update.

Once again I hope no one objects to my posting my life here.  It helps me to talk to you.

Of course not!!  Martha is like our family... (OK, you are too...  hysterical hysterical)  Keep us in the loop so we can update our prayers accordingly!!

Heck... these are the same people that sat thru that wretched day with me as I posted about my dog as he lay on the kitchen floor dying... praying with me that by some miracle, he would make a recovery.

These people have the biggest hearts around!!!  Tell your better half that we're thinking of her!!!!!

I would like to thank everyone for your support. I will try to explain how I feel. Please bare with me. I am on a lot of pills.

My surgery is set for next Wednesday Jan 16 to remove the tumor. They can’t tell me if I will have to have radiation and chemotherapy treatments until they look inside and test the limp nodes. I am fighting the depression as best I can. My family is being great. Everyone is helping me stay up beat. You all know Harold. He has been very supportive. He does not act it but I know he is scared as well.

My mom died of cancer eleven years ago. Six years ago my sister died of cancer. What she had was different from mine. We moved her into our home for her last year and a half. I saw what she went through and it scares me. The Doctor said mine can be cured, hers could not.

It seems I sleep a lot. Taking care of the grandkids is becoming difficult for me. I have slowed down on that but right now there isn’t anyone else to do it. Their mom works as a Veterinary’s Assistance full time and then some. My grandson’s dad Brian and Harold work together when they have work. Their other grandmother does help. I think starting Monday or Tuesday other arrangements will be made.

We do not have insurance. How all of that is going to go only time will tell. The Doctor's office say they may write off their bill but for us not to think on that right now. I hold a special place in my heart for those of you who help us get my first medications.

One of my grandsons is having his tonsils taken out the same day as my surgery. I wanted to be there for him. He is five and hopefully would not know. I am going to try relaxing this weekend so I will be ready for Wednesday. Once again thank you to all of you grabs.

Martha

Get as much rest as you need, and can. Sending you love and prayers. Let your friends and family be your strength when you feel afraid. Find some peace of mind even if it is only for a moment, as I believe it assists in the healing process.
We will all be keeping you in our hearts, and are here for you and Harold.

All you gotta do is holler.

Martha... I want you to do something for me...

Lay down in a quiet room in the dark and close your eyes.  Listen quietly to the sounds around you but slowly separate yourself from the sounds.  All the sounds get dimmer and farther away... Now... Keeping your eyes closed, I want you to imagine that there is a pin point of light far, far away, almost as if you are looking down a long, long tunnel.  Feel the warmth of the light as it slowly moves up the tunnel towards you... slowly getting bigger and brighter as it gets closer and closer ... now the light is over your head almost like a bright light bulb.  This is your life energy... this is YOUR light.  The light your soul has created.  It belongs to no one but you.

Now feel this light slowly move thru the top of your head... soft and warm like warm water or a soft blanket.  Feel the warmth of the light caress you and wrap it's arms around you... direct the light and the warmth to the tumor and allow the light to penetrate it and linger on the tumor.  Move the light up and down each leg all the way from you thighs to the tips of your toes.  Feel the light move up and down each arm to the tips of your fingers.  Feel the light collect in your stomach area and radiate out to your entire body.  Feel the warmth.  Slowly allow the light to to dim as your exercise comes to an end.

Allow yourself at least 20 minutes to do this entire exercise.  Some times the first time is easier if someone s-l-o-w-l-y reads you the words as you lie quietly but remember the room must be dark.

You should feel very relaxed and refreshed or at the very least, relaxed enough to get some rest.  The more times you do it, the better at it you'll become.  This is a very simple meditation exercise that I do to relieve stress and create harmony.  Your body cannot heal itself if it's under stress.

I know I joke around a lot and I have a sick sense of humor but I take my spirituality very seriously.  Spirituality is not religion (I would never push religion on you... don't worry!!!) but it is a deeper place in your soul.  You need to become familiar with that part of your existence and then you can work both your mind and body to beat this thing.

This technique I told you about was the way I first learned to meditate.  Even if it sounds completely nutty, just humor me and try it.  You won't be disappointed.  Give yourself 20-30 minutes alone and you will see.  Remember, concentrate only on the light.  Do not think about Harold, or medical bills or tonsils... just the warmth of your light energy.

Feel free to PM me if you have any questions.  And if you decide to try it and don't mind sharing your experience with me, please do.  I hope it helps you to feel better.

And a PS to everyone else.. this is a great technique to de-stress yourself anytime.  Once you get good at it, you can do a 5 minute break to collect your thoughts and do this exercise... it really helps.

Love ya Martha!!  Thinking of you.

Platski

She is sleeping right now. I am sure she will do as you ask. I know just reading this and thinking of it it as I read it helped me. Thank you. You are the one that found us on WP brought us to TT and we followed you, Deb and Joe here. When I read your "sick sense of humor" I can feel the human kindness that you have.

As everyone here knows I have never used a "sick sense of humor" myself

Ok so I typed out this big long story and then erased it, because none of it matters anyhow.  Really it does, but who cares.

I believe in God and my faith is very very strong.  At the same time I believe in self healing and the powers of the mind.  What Platzki mentioned above is mind boggling to me.  Years ago I purchased a tape and it had a very smoothing voice talking about actions like Platzki mentioned above.  I don't care who you are or what is going on you really need to attempt the above.  It may sound a bit strange, but it really is life altering.

Just think.......I deleted the long story  hysterical

Kudos to you Platzki

Now that is funny, I don’t care who you are.

I am very focused. I am her driver, her chief, her friend, her editor, her medication dispenser, her house cleaner, her foot warmer, her TV channel changer, her back rubber, her drink (diet Pepsi) fetcher, her alarm clock, her checker of noises in the night, her for life partner.

She is my strength. I am very lucky.
