Ok so I typed out this big long story and then erased it, because none of it matters anyhow.  Really it does, but who cares.

I do.

Me too!!!  Spill it...

I would also love to here it. I am a religious person also.

I would like to thank everyone for your support. I will try to explain how I feel. Please bare with me. I am on a lot of pills.

My surgery is set for next Wednesday Jan 16 to remove the tumor. They can’t tell me if I will have to have radiation and chemotherapy treatments until they look inside and test the limp nodes. I am fighting the depression as best I can. My family is being great. Everyone is helping me stay up beat. You all know Harold. He has been very supportive. He does not act it but I know he is scared as well.

My mom died of a heart attack ten years ago. Seven years ago my sister died of cancer. What she had was different from mine. We moved her into our home for her last year and a half. I saw what she went through and it scares me. The Doctor said mine can be cured, hers could not.

It seems I sleep a lot. Taking care of the grandkids is becoming difficult for me. I have slowed down on that but right now there isn’t anyone else to do it. Their mom works as a Veterinary’s Assistance full time and then some. My grandson’s dad Brian and Harold work together when they have work. Their other grandmother does help. I think starting Monday or Tuesday other arrangements will be made.

We do not have insurance. How all of that is going to go only time will tell. The Doctor's office say they may write off their bill but for us not to think on that right now. I hold a special place in my heart for those of you who help us get my first medications.

One of my grandsons is having his tonsils taken out the same day as my surgery. I wanted to be there for him. He is five and hopefully would not know. I am going to try relaxing this weekend so I will be ready for Wednesday. Once again thank you to all of you grabs.

TPG & Martha  , I am so sorry that I haven't seen this thread sooner, we are struggling here with unborn baby problems, so haven't been reading the forums as often as I would like  sniff

Just bought you a beer and have you both in my prayers. I am with you in spirit in more ways than one here - I survived a brain tumour 20 years ago, and am well aware of the emotions you must be feeling. My girls were 1, 2 & 4 when I was rushed in and was away from home for many weeks.

Platski had some really good advice there - self hypnosis truly helped me deal with the pain, the stress and the emotions and with them under control, my body was able to cope with what was thrown at it.

You sound as if you both have an almost perfect relationship which will help you both through this tough time, but get through it you will, and come out the other end as stronger people

Love to you both and to your grandson

Thank you everyone for your support it means alot to me. I am so sick of taking pills I could scream. I now have 8 different kinds The Oxycodine is the one that scares me. I hope it does not make me sick oh yea I have one for that to. hysterical Humor is the best medicine. I did the meditation Plazski it works until I see nothing at all for 2 hours. Debbie the pills for stop smoking I recommend them. I was suprised but I have not had a cig. for 2 weeks. I am going to keep a positive attitude about this because my family needs me. My daughter told Harold I could not be home alone  after the surgury she needs a women looking over me. Wow when did she grow up she is 28.  love grin So I guess she will be my nurse along with Harold, Brian, and Ben. I better start on my own therapy to get well because it could be interesting. I am also going to post until I am no longer a little crab. I want to be a big one.     See what drugs does to you it kills your brain cells.

Martha - I agree 100% - humor is very healing!  I believe that's why I often turn things into humor - otherwise.....only God knows where my mind, heart and soul would be!

Congrats. to you on the cigs......super great job!  That's so not easy - the quitting smoking - and I truly commend ya....

For your 'current' chapter, I agree 100% with Platzi's plan above.  I am a rather hyper person by nature, do not sleep well and prolly have ADD (as an adult...and more than likely did when I was young).  I am quasi-spastic and used to have severe migraines and also severe muscle spasms in my neck.  Of course, if you go to a Dr. - they give ya drugs.  I do NOT like 'downers' at all - and am an anti-pharmaceutical woman (unless necessary).

Many moons ago, there was too much going on in my life (or so I thought).  A friend started talking about self-hypnosis, and I was like 'yeah....right....whatever'.  Well - with practice - it does work!  My all-time favorite is what I was taught to relax to sleep.  It's very, very similar to what Platzki has above, except no light and you focus on one small part of your body at a time - starting with the toes and coming upward.  Get into the best, most comfy position and then just focus on a body part at a time.  I've yet to reach the top of my head -  - so it does work!

Harold - you are also -  - her comedian, her rock, her everything!  You both together are great - and I consider ya both part of my family!

QUILT...........................We do care and we do wanna hear ya!!

For the record, I'm a 'recovering catholic'.  For me, that means - I was baptized as that, and participate there when needed.  My boys have chosen to be methodists, so I go there a bunch.  I've been to a variety of different places, and return to those I am most comfy with.  I have a very strong faith in a higher power - just not closely or currently aligned with one religious sector.

Love and hugs to all - keep the faith and prayers your way --- Martha and Harold!!

Martha

I'll have to get the name of those stop smoking pills from you and see if I can get my doctor to hook me up.  If they have worked that good for you, I'm willing to give them a try!!

Now if I could just get ahold of some stop eating pills, life would be grand.  hysterical hysterical hysterical

You know if there is anything at all we can do to help, we're here for you and Harold.
You're in our hearts, our thoughts and most definitely our prayers!  love grin  love grin  love grin

Martha went to bed shortly after I got home. She started smoking when she was 14. That has been for 38 years, you do the math. hysterical It has been our largest "point of contention"

The medication is called Chantix It is on TV a lot. You Can find it at http://www.chantix.com Very costly but in one day she only had two of those #%*&*("?# cigarettes. Within three days she had stopped all together. I am proud of her for doing this I'm sure it wasn't easy to try. She says she doesn't even want one anymore.

Wow Martha  rah rah that's some achievement after so many years - must get some of those pills!

I don't know about you folks in th US, but over here, the sense of community has all but died out in all bar the small rural villages. Coming originally from a tiny village in Yorkshire, it has been one of the main things I regret about moving down to London all those years ago. Being a part of a 'virtual' community rekindles that spirit in everyone and makes these places very special

Sleep well you guys
