Sometimes you have to slow down to go faster.

« on: January 30, 2008, 08:43:18 PM »

Martha and I have been on eBay since November 14, 2003. We have 13,413 positive feedbacks with a 100% rating. At one point we had just under 5000 listings, as of today we are at 147 listings and are reducing from there. As soon as we can we are going to be listing on http://www.thetraderspost.com It is a great looking site, easy to list into. I believe in it and the owners. I must say that it only having 23 members with only 68 listings is a suprise to me. Lets all get busy and support this site and have a listing party.

We challenge all the members of The Crabby Host to "fill the shelves" at http://www.thetraderspost.com!! Who can list the most items in http://www.thetraderspost.com by February 29th I don't know maybe you maybe me lets see.

OK so we only have two there ourselves, where is there http://www.thetraderspost.com but it is a start. Post here how many you have there http://www.thetraderspost.com now and keep it updated as you list. Who ever wins this challenge will get an at-a-person as opposed to an at-a-boy or girl from me, valued at $nothing.

In case you do not know the site I am talking about it is
http://www.thetraderspost.com

Once again we are starting today with 23 members and 68 listings. I will try keeping these numbers updated as time goes on.

A listing challenge is a good idea BUT allow me to speak about the eBay fee changes and all the other changes that are going on before anybody else dumps their eBay store. I don't want to post my comments in this thread because I don't think it belongs here. I will say this though, www.thetraderspost.com is not to be anybodies sole source of income but rather a marketing channel to your own website or other selling venue!!! I can't stress that enough!!! This doesn't mean that we don't want it to be a source of income for participants but rather we know the reality of the site and have set it up as a marketing channel.

Please see my comments in one of the eBay threads before anybody rushes into anything.

P.S. I will be posting soon about this and have spent quite a bit of time thinking my own business plan.

If your items have expired you can extend them for up to 153 days. In theory the maximum allotted time per listing is 6 months (1/2 a year). We could have extended it even further but for SEO purposes (bots like new content) we went with this allotted time. In order to set this we had to make some adjustments to our fee schedule. Advertising fees now reflect 6 months. BIN fees now reflect 6 months @ 15 cents. This will be updated on the site by the end of the day. Please note a basic classifieds listing remains FREE of charge.

Joe - what's best for the bots?  If needed, I can make me a schedule to recreate listings every xx....not preferred but an option.  Or I can do the extension every xx - tell u what's best for the spiders and bots and I'll work thru my things - yell at or for me if I did not make sense?!

I often wonder when I type what I think if it comes out as I planned....  hysterical hysterical hysterical hysterical

Bolding mine.

Well if they knew what was best for them they would all band together and head on over to my sites. I will lock them in and throw away the key. Hope that helps and if you need directions just look in my siggy!!!  hysterical hysterical hysterical

Seriously:

A slow build spread out over time would be the best thing. New items everyday is ideal. Please note this also works on eBay (part of a selling secret not the full details  hysterical). Spread your items out and list them as long as possible. Remember there is NO inventory control at this time so if you sell it you must end it unless you have more!!!

A little side not, because we adjusted fees to reflect the 6 months alloted for any given listing we have also removed the signup bonus (sorry but to make the little back we invested will take a lot of time even with the fees the way it is). I will work on the exchange program this week to use forum credits at TTP. If you would like to register and need funds to list you can PM me and I will exchange 2 credits for every cent in the meantime.

That sounds like a good listing idea.  I could use all the help I can get.  It made sense to me Erin, however I still believe in Santa Claus

Does this mean the Easter Bunny is in doubt too?

Rest assured Joe, The Easter Bunny is as real as the possibility of making a fortune at Wagglepop.

Now the guy in the red suit...that's a whole different matter!  He's real as long as you believe in him.

Making a fortune on Wagglepop is not real either?  Golly......I really need a drink now - there are a few who swear by 'it' as the alternative of all alternatives.  I'm so grateful that you all keep me honest - and I'm super grateful to know the man in the red suit is still real!!!

Hey - what do you all think about using 'ignore' at PSU for the moderators?  Might that be acceptable?    toast
