Just taking the time to give a short explanation of how The Traders Post is setup and discuss the difference between the Advertising sections and Product sections. Also wanted to remind everyone that you will receive a $5 credit in site fees upon registration.


The Advertising section of a top category:

This section is intended to be used as your advertising space for where and what you sell. Please keep this section for advertising purposes only (no products for sale please). Fees apply for this section as you are able to out link to wherever you want. Make landing pages of wherever else you sell, advertise your own website. See example below:

Pure advertisement for an independent website. You can do the same thing on your about store page. See link below:

The product section of a top category:

All product sections of top categories are now free with the exception of a few categories such as cars, real estate, etc... All upgrades are optional and fees apply. There is a $0.05 fee for using the Buy It Now feature as your classified ad becomes a true marketplace listing when this feature is used. You may also out link in any of the product sections to wherever you wish. Don't be afraid to point people to other sites you sell on or preferably include a link to your own independent website in every ad you place.

Premium Stores:

In the coming days we will develop a system for purchasing Premium store space. You will also notice new links in the upper and lower toolbar one of which will take you to a list of stores and Premium Stores.

New features and SEO tools are being added. The tavern Wench will be along to talk about the features. The future of this site is yet to be established but from what I have seen so far, we have a unique site with loads of potential as a marketing channel.

Excellent work Deb and Joe    I already have the feeling this place is going to make a great alternative for alot of sellers.  Regardless if they are just advertising or selling.

Joe (and Deb) - the 'advertising pages' you all created look super, super sharp!    - GREAT JOB!!!!  My skills are not 'there' at all - so I'll have to find some time to get creative.... 

I have added a few things tho - the process is fairly easy and self-explanatory.   

Of course, I never read any directions - what's up with those?

I have added a few things tho - the process is fairly easy and self-explanatory.  

We tried as best we could to Numpty proof the script before hand.  there will be a few tweaks along the way one of which may change over the weekend. The Contacts name and phone number may go from madatory to an optional field.

One thing to note is the search is about the best I have seen.

I turned on your Premium Shop Erin but you may want to shrink your logo down just a bit in the edit your store area. It's the lower logo.

Of course, I never read any directions - what's up with those?

Joe - I can't shrink that 'bad boy' - cuz I didn't make it - and it'll loose the animation!  I really don't care about loosing the animation ---- but - we all know some things just don't shrink well <<<<------ that did not sound good!!! 

Can you tell me the 'good size'?  I'll make a temporary one and then match a new one to whatever magical banner comes to mind for my new digs 'there'!!!

One thing Queen Numpty did 'realize' - the default length for a listing is 1 day - just so everyone knows...you may actually want your item 'seen' longer than a day!!!  I have a few that will end much sooner than desired, but that's OK cuz I want to see where they go when they end (psssst......with and/or without a sale)!!!

The size you would need is 70 high by 50 wide for the Premium store logo.


Just a little side note here. Deb will be along shortly as this is normally her department  I am told she has been defragmenting her PC for most of the day. It's a Dell

Uhmmmmmm - ya better make up some drinks before she arrives!  I had to defrag last week or the week before - took a lifetime - but mine's not a Dell....it's an eMachines - have had 3 of 'em and do like them!!!

Ouch Deb....that had to hurt!  I was pulling my hair out when I did mine - and kicking myself for not starting in one evening to go thru the night.  I did have my laptop tho as 'a fix' for my pining ...
